NYPD: 'This plot is similar to others in the past.' |

NYPD: 'This plot is similar to others in the past.' (LOL, that's because the same government agencies are behind them! Six months later, on a typical Friday afternoon Bush 'bad news' dump, the facts will emerge: An FBI or DHS agent procured/sold the explosives to the 'terrorists' and encouraged them to carry out the plot. A possible reason for the sudden revelation of the alleged year-long plot: DHS wants early passenger info 14 Jul 2006 The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has submitted a proposal that will force all international departures heading to the U.S. to submit information about all the passengers aboard the plane prior to take off... Privacy laws in the European Union (EU) have prevented similar legislation being introduced before. In May, the highest court in the EU struck down a proposal to allow airlines to provide the DHS with extensive passenger information, such as fare payment details, phone numbers, and addresses. This directive is currently being redrafted.)More here. Polar Bear

3. I usually oppose this sort of thing, but it seems a reasonable request |

What in the hell kind of stupid bullshit is it that they can only know who's on the plane AFTER it's already in the air? That's fucking nuts.
If they are gonna know, isn't it Monte Python kind of stupid to only get the list AFTER the plane is in the air with someone we DON'T WANT FLYING in the first place? Limit it to names and country of origin, maybe . I don't like this Big Brother shit, but it seems patently fucking nuts to give up your privacy in giving them the info eventually but getting absolutely no protection from it because you would only know there was a problem AFTER the plane was in the air.
Maybe I'm missing something.
