Report: In Meeting, ‘Wild-Eyed’ Bush Thumped Chest While Repeating ‘I Am The President!
Edited on Sat Jun-02-07 05:09 PM by seemslikeadream
Georgie Anne Geyer writes today in the Dallas Morning News about President Bush’s strange behavior during a recent meeting with “riends of his from Texas.”

But by all reports, President Bush is more convinced than ever of his righteousness.

Friends of his from Texas were shocked recently to find him nearly wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest three times while he repeated “I am the president!” He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of “our country’s destiny.”

This is the second time in recent weeks that accounts have surfaced of Bush lashing out or “ranting” in private meetings when responding to criticism of his Iraq policy. Chris Nelson of the Nelson Report offered a similar account earlier this month:

Some big money players up from Texas recently paid a visit to their friend in the White House. The story goes that they got out exactly one question, and the rest of the meeting consisted of The President in an extended whine, a rant, actually, about no one understands him, the critics are all messed up, if only people would see what he’s doing things would be OK…etc., etc. This is called a “bunker mentality” and it’s not attractive when a friend does it. When the friend is the President of the United States, it can be downright dangerous. Apparently the Texas friends were suitably appalled, hence the story now in circulation.

1. "You damn dirty apes!"
And then he threw a chair out the window.

(Sorry to point this out--close your "crossout line" tag? Thanks.)

4. Well it is getting lonely in that big old house when nobody will
talk to him but Laura and Barney! I guess he was SO EXCITED that some "friends" stopped by, he just couldn't shut up!

5. Dry drunks are very very sick. This is a grave malady.
But with Republicans, the graves are for others to fill. And for the Republican's filling, they have wallets.

7. Okay...1st he was "The Decider" then "The Comander Guy"
Maybe he's just now realizing that he's the President (even though WE know he's really not.

8. Ummmm
If you look at the source of the story, I'm not sure it's meant to be taken seriously. I wouldn't. I can believe it, but I think it's like "Son of Onion" more than fact.

9. They are quoting from a real, reliable source.
If you go to the Houston site you will find the op-ed from a couple of days ago. Houston is not a satirical site and this was a real article even if it is quoted at the satirical site.

Again, it sounds good, and I would be very happy if it were, but I don't think it is.

21. No problem. This is just too important for people to think it is fake.
Couple this with the LBN this week about him stating the public is actually on his side and you have one freaked out guy that needs a padded room and lots of meds. You may argue this was op-ed and so it is only opinion but the whole article about the public actually backing him up about Iraq and how the polls prove it shows he is delusional and needs to be replaced.

CAN WE PLEASE IMPEACH HIM NOW?????????????

17. Keep following the links. The actual source is a Universal Press Syndicate columnist

It's not in a hard news article, and we have only her word for it *(she's certainly NOT about to name her sources)*, so who knows?

Here's the scoop on the columnist in question:
http://www.amuniversal.com/ups/features/georgie_geyer/bio.htm

I'd like to believe it, but as it's not getting Corporate Media exposure, it hardly matters in the greater scheme of things. :(

18. Folks, this is real and NOT satire.
Go to the Dallas Morning News and check it out for yourself. I read it at the Dallas paper a few days ago. The girl that wrote this has journalist credentials and has experience writing. She is out of Texas and has enough connections that people will tell her about stuff like this that happens. The OP quotes from a satirical site that quotes from a REAL NEWSPAPER>
