Ron Paul is Grover Norquist's man
Representative Ron Paul, who is seeking the 2008 Republican Presidential nomination, signed the Presidential Taxpayer Protection Pledge today. The Pledge sponsored by Americans for Tax Reform commits signers to “oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses … and oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates."

ATR has offered the Pledge to all candidates for federal office since 1987. Every Republican nominee for President since 1988 has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. To date, President George W. Bush, 43 U.S. Senators, and 196 members of the U.S. House of Representatives have signed the Pledge. Seven Governors and over 1,100 state legislators have signed the Pledge as well.

“In signing the Pledge, Rep. Paul firmly commits himself to the fiscal discipline and economic common sense that American taxpayers deserve of their presidential candidates,” said Grover Norquist, president of ATR.

“I strongly encourage every Presidential candidate to sign the Pledge,” Norquist continued.

1. That was to be expected as Ron Paul is a conservative Libertarian
...All of his positions have been in support of keeping taxes in line with reduced spending. However, my support of Ron Paul's run to become the republican presidential candidate in 2008 stops when Neal Boortz officially endorses him as the flat tax candidate!

2. So, he's pledging to cut funds for the military?
Because that's what's sucking up the majority of expenditures.

And if you cut taxes radically, something's got to give.

6. Of course...they both have stained copies of "Atlas Shrugged"...
but Grover also likes to have trade come over and strip down and assume Atlas poses for his...amusement

8. It's not like any of us were planning to support Ron Paul any way
While he makes more sense than the rest of the lot, he pales in comparison to every one of the Democratic candidates.
