Funny choice of words. I find Bush having the right to put me into a military brig incommunicado and to be tortured for years beyond troubling. I call spilling my coffee troubling.

4. RCTV was not shut down. It still operates |
|
It broadcasts on cable. It no longer has the right to broadcast on the free public airwaves.

It's not that Chavez's actions don't concern me, you just asked what concerned me MORE.

And one of the reason why I haven't been involved in the whole Chavez debate is because both sides are so unreasonable. Chavez has done great things for his country and for the common man. That seems indisputable. But he also seems to think that the best response to any legitimate problem is the erosion of civil liberties.
A poll like you have proposed is indicative of the Chavez discourse here on DU.
This is a gray, fuzzy area, and I don't trust the opinion of anyone who doesn't see it that way.

9. bush and his cabal certainly concern me more, much more..... |
|
I see more fear in the US public, fear about everything from immigrants to "terra-ism" to the economy to the actions of the bush cabal, than it seems the people of Venezuela are exhibiting.
I find it fascinating, I must admit, that the criticisms of Chavez wrt his potential for being a dictator seems to concern some DUers more than the ACTUAL dictatorial actions bush has already taken ala his "signing statements", etc.
Who would have thought not renewing a broadcast license in Venezuela, an act that is within the Venezuelan law, would cause such angst among some DUers.
One has to wonder why the propaganda being spread by the US admin, about Chavez, is taken as truth by the same DUers who don't believe the propaganda by this same admin when it is about domestic policies. Strange, to say the least, imo.

10. The GREATEST CONCERN currently resides in the oval office. |

I think the majority of Americans and the rest of the world will back 'US' up on this.
