About abortion, Dobson, conservatism & all that... |
|
The conservatives had all 3 houses for 6 years, and abortion is still legal. Even James Dobson says they can only advance the prohibitionist agenda inch by inch. Ever wonder why?
As long as abortion is legal, it remains a hot, roll-out-the-fundies political item. If abortion were outlawed, it would become a hot, roll-out-the-liberals political issue.

And I'll take it one step further. Not only would it send us liberals into overdrive, it would dissipate their base. Social conservatives would get what they primaril want, so they would stop voting for all sorts of reasons. That would deprive the Repub party of their footsoldiers. Do you honestly think all those CEOs are gonna go door to door for their candidates?

7. They already hire door-knockers and phone bank workers. |

The desertion by the Far Righteous would make the whole business somewhat more expensive, though.

It's wonderful if you've got a great job and everything set out for you.
Where's the beef? Let's talk economics.
