So is the US safer now than it was in 2001? |
|
Granted the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan have created more terrorist and more hatred of the US but at the same time we are paying more attention to details. I do believe it is a lot harder to hijack an airliner now than six years ago. I bet it is even harder to get sensitive information on soft targets(dams, power plants, water reservoirs, etc.) in America. I believe in many ways we are indeed safer but I believe because of our aggressive foreign policy we will be tested more often than we should expect. I believe we can still turn world opinion around if the world sees accountability and a one hundred and eighty degree turn in our foreign policies.

1. The US (meaning us here in the 50 states) is safer. The world? The middle east? Well.... |

2. I think air travel is safer. I don't see that anything else is, though. |

4. Obviously hijacking a plane is tougher. The other passengers would |

simply beat the living daylights out of anyone who tried, but I don't think the government can take credit for this.
