Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 08:31 PM by YellowRubberDuckie
Hillary's voice is starting to grate, she's getting so exhausting, repeating herself this gate that makes me want to SCREAM! Obama doesn't answer questions, he just gets into character, John Edwards isn't doing anything for me either, and the rest aren't really even worth mentioning. I'm bored. Same shit different day...And they're all being spineless idiots in Congress. What the hell has happened to these people?! What happened to fighting back? What happened to taking back America? IF this is how they think they're going to do it, they are sorely mistaken. I'm honestly already sick of this campaign and there's still a year and a half to go. Anyone else?

1. I find that having 6 years of the Bush administration, with 1-1/2 to go, is damn annoying.

My god people is it REALLY so impossible to keep the big picture in mind?

Sheesh.

6. I would agree there...
But with the way the people who are running are behaving in congress, how are any of them any better? They talk big, but when it comes to acting, how do we know they are going to follow through, just like they HAVEN'T in Congress?

I think politicians have a new way to maintain power. They are simply going to exhaust us into submission.

If they are annoying now, they will be infuriating by Fall. So maybe Al Gore or Wes Clark could step in...?

Now that's something that would spice up the current field-real voices that have something substantive to add to the debate.

9. Sounds like you should maybe stay away from all politics for a while.
I'm sure if anything really dramatic happens, you'll find out somehow. There's soooo much more time to go, and what you're seeing is what the campaign trail is all about. I think the reason it's getting to you is because in past years,we rarely got to see any particular candidate's speech more than once...at least until after the primary when at least we knew one of the two people you were hearing was really GOING to be Prez! Now, they have plays and replays of almost all their speeches on cspan, clips on CNN & MSNBC, and if even one little out of the ordinary happened, you see the damn replays on ABC, NBC too!

If you continue to watch & listen now, but the time it's actually time to vote, you're going to be so upset with all of them, you'll end up staying home! And we don't want that!!!!

Here's thread one of the empressof all's terrificly moderated debate threads.

And, wishing you could "smack" Senator Clinton is not a very productive way to present your argument. MKJ

13. none of the top tier will take a real stand on anything-where is the howard dean of this race?
Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 08:27 PM by Adenoid_Hynkel
you'd think, given the '06 victories, that one of them would try to connect to the base and rally with a populist appeal. i thought edwards was going to do it, with his announcement in new orleans, but he's run an abysmal campaign, unable to fight back on nonsensical non-stories like the haircut stuff. obama, i was willing to give a chance-but here we are six months since he got in and he has yet to take a bold stand on anything (i've often suspected, due to his political upbringing, that he's solely in the race to split the anti-hillary vote, in exchange for a v-p slot)
then there's the wannabe dynasty-in-the making, ms. clinton. give it up with the fake antiwar position. we know your record. what kind of fools do you take us for?

biden and dodd are boring and milquetoast. and richardson lost me when i heard him kissing sean hannity's ass one time too many.

that leaves kucinich and gravel, who i both love, but, realistically don't have the funding, momentum or charisma to have a real shot.

i've said it time and again. i'm severely disappointed with our choices. where's the great progressive hope? maybe it's a certain former v-p that this former nader voter would campaign his heart out for...

25. That's the problem I have with them
They seem to be trying too hard not to offend anyone and as a result, they won't take a strong stand on the issues. In many ways, they seem more interested in pleasing the religious right and the DLC than the average Democratic voter.

Kucinich and Gravel are terrific, but you're right ... realistically, they don't have a shot. That really sucks .. but unfortunately, it's true. :-(

Don't get me wrong, I like Obama and Edwards, but I'm disappointed. No one INSPIRES me. No one makes me feel real HOPE for our country. When will a true leader emerge? :-(

Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 10:34 PM by Adenoid_Hynkel
And we're going to need inspiration. Something to motivate people to get off their asses and fight.

The media's in love with Rudy. Thompson's got the Rove slime machine. '08 is going to be a rough one.

32. They know what the media will do to them
It must be a difficult tightrope to walk.

Why does a president have to be exciting and have charisma? This country needs to quit being the drama queen of the universe. Let's support the need for someone with a brain, even if they are "boring."

Nothing in the Constitution says the President has to be entertaining.

16. The presidential campaigning started way to early and there is the danger..........
that many voters may burn out from the extended political 'season'. Take the summer off from politics; maybe things will look new and different in the fall.

17. It's Like Watching Election For Class President
Nothing really happened last night except for some cheap, made-for-TV programming for CNN to promote and for the fringe candidates to get some free mug time. This isn't a real town hall...where there's lots of questions from the audience and no clock...candidates are free to rebut and engage one another. I kept waiting for the number to call like American Idol.

The object was to find the gotcha soundbites...the cheap 15 or 30 second snippet...like Edwards dressing down Obama and Hillary on their votes...and Biden going ballistic about Darfur...moments that will matter very little to a majority of voters next year and surely have little relevance to the voters in New Hampshire.

It was good to hear the candidates have a bit more time than they did on Tweety's ego circus...but with the first primaries still 9 months away and the election 18 months out, whose going to remember anything here when the first votes are cast? This was more for the donors and "bundlers" out there to place their bets.

22. That's the problem with announcing this early in the season
which is really before any reasonable notion of an election season. Usually we don't want to kill them all until late in the primaries when we've been deluged with ads for and against all of them.
