"I call him Vladimir!"
Bizarre.

====

Russia should not fear a missile shield in eastern Europe, George Bush said today in his latest bid to placate Vladimir Putin, who has threatened to aim missiles at western countries in retaliation.

Speaking in Prague, the US president once again invited Russian generals and scientists to the US to discuss American plans to deploy a missile defence system in the Czech Republic and Poland.

"My message will be: 'Vladimir - I call him Vladimir - you shouldn't fear a missile defence system. As a matter of fact, why don't you cooperate with us on a missile defence system?'" Mr Bush said at a news conference.

5. I saw and herd that. Chimp is such a little bastard. How insulting.
He might as well have reverted to calling President Putin "Pooty Poot."

7. The good news for us is that Bush is gone in less than 2 years
and has an independent media and opposition party that will constrain his actions somewhat.

The Russians are not so lucky on any of these accounts.

8. Wasn't it just a year ago that he bragged about calling him "Vlad?"

Bush is a bizarre man-boy. Unbelievable that American destiny is being steered by this drunken driver for the next 20 months.

10. Disinformation from hell. On "Mosaic" today, I hear an Iranian official
Edited on Tue Jun-05-07 03:45 PM by sfexpat2000
say that given that Russia was one of their biggest trade partners, they'd have no reason to even consider hostilities in that direction, and that the United States must be delusional to use that argument, i.e., this system will protect you from Iran. (Help me, my government is full of idiots.)

Similarly, I heard the head of the Afghani government (sorry, can't get his name) say that it's absurd to say that Iran is equipping the Taliban when the Taliban were sworn enemies of Iran and that Iran was supporting the new government in Iran. He was answering a claim made by our government. :eyes:

BushCo mendacity is being busted ALL OVER the Middle East. Please let's impeach these stupid @ssholes.
