"Be quiet till after the election... or no pardon. Be a good soldier for the family, and then we'll see. Come to the Godfather when the time is right."
Bush COULD pardon Libby now. But clearly, Scooter knows too much. And Bush is a good enough gangster to know not to give up his leverage.

Scooter can't sell out Bush without taking down the Big Dick. Dick's got a hell of a lot more money than W.

2. Honestly, I don't think he'll get his pardon. |
|
Little Lord Pissypants looks after himself. There's NO WAY he is going to pardon this guy and have an asterick after his name for pardoning someone who helped this administration commit TREASON by outing a covert agent while propelling us into and ILLEGAL war. I just don't see him doing it. If it were Karl, that would be another story, imo. Wonder how Darth Cheney likes having his guys drop like flies so that Bush and Rove can protect themselves?

But, at the very least, Bush has to make Scooter THINK that keeping quiet will win him a pardon.
After the election, Scooter can scream all he wants. They'll say he's just mad about not being pardoned and is lashing out. They'll depict him as "disgruntled," deranged and "unhinged" -- just a bitter kook spouting conspiracy theories from his prison cell. Tsk, tsk.

There is a downside to serving an administration run by the Mafia Code of Ethics.

3. Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. |

You nailed it.
He's the fall guy for them all, and I'll bet the judge will let him sit out the appeal, and then with the pardon, he won't serve a day.
But Paris Hilton will for driving w/o a license.
Keep a lid on the corruption.
Miller was willing to rot in a cell for them, we'll see Scooter do their time only if the judge sends him in during appeal.

7. Judge giving him time to run to the prosecutor before reporting to the pen. |

Hope he's madder than hell and squealing like a pig for being thrown under the bus. :toast:
