Another Democratic failure is unfolding |
|
The catastrophes and crimes that are the hallmarks of the bush cabal's reign are (finally!) apparent to everyone.
This unprecedented failure and its disastrous consequences MUST be attributed to its root cause--the repuke party. They had things their way and in less than five years, have damn near destroyed this country both domestically and internationally. bush is no loose cannon--we can't let the repukes disown him now. He is in every way the full flower of modern "conservatism" and the inevitable outcome of repuke ascendancy.
If the "democratic" front-runners don't frame America's deep problems as the result of repuke rule, as the legacy of republicanism, they not onlysquander yet another political opportunity, they set the stage for history to repeat itself in 4 or 8 or 12 years.

5. We got into office this past november by doing both |
|
What everybody does is blame bush, and then say the Republicans are blindly for his policy.

6. Good point - Clinton said, the other night, said that it's Bush's war |

Let's hope that doesn't become the mantra verbatim but gets expanded to it being the Republican's war.

7. Failure is in the eyes of the beholder |

This is in all reality another Republican raid, except on a grander scale. I see this sort of shit in my state of Missouri all of the time. Some yahoo 'Pug like Ashcroft or Blunt gets elected, gets all sorts of legislation passed that benefits his backers and buddies, leaves the state a shambles, and is replaced by a succession of Democrats who go through and patiently rebuild the state back up, all so that the cycle can be repeated again.
This is the same tactic being played out on a national scale. Reagan/Bush came in and raided this country, getting all sorts of legislation rammed through that benefitted their backers and buddies. The sad thing is that Clinton really didn't build the country back up that much, since he had buddies and backers to pay off also. But now we're going through another 'Pug raid. Hopefully the next Dem to get in will truly focus on rebuilding this country back up, for after twenty eight years of paying off cronies and corporations of both sides, we truly need it.
This isn't a failure for those in charge, it is a success. The only people for whom it is a failure is the vast majority of Americans for whom it doesn't benefit.

from Nixon through king george, it's been bigger and bigger thefts, more and more blatant treason, more and more blatant feudal-fascist-crony-capitalist corruption
