I am disappointed. Impeachment is FAR from a waste of time and resources.

2. I agree with him and Pelosi on that.
Impeachment is simply removal from office. It would not bring Bucheney to justice.

3. I could support him. He probably remembers what a toll it took and figures it
it would take a while to get all the ducks in a row. By then we'd have a new President anyway.

4. I think for Gore it would be...a waste that is.
If he were to run and get elected, impeachment by that point would be moot. Criminal prosecution may well be a very different story.

I think he's trying to stay above the fray on this one.

5. It would backfire on us as it did on the Repubs when it is clear there aren't enough votes.
Impeachment is a process, not just one vote, so undergoing such a process when you know you don't have the votes to come even close to making it stick is a colossal waste of time. Gore knows this.

6. Then who DO you support?
You can count the elected dems in D.C. who support impeachment with your toes.

10. Impeachment without conviction. Real smart idea, there.
And even assuming you get Bush convicted, why in the world would you think he wouldn't get a pardon?

You would have to throw out every single member of this corrupt administration.

11. What would he be able to do about impeachment if he became President in 2009?

12. With Congressional ratings dropping--Democratic
congress, it the war and Immigration Issue are
screwing Democrats--yeah, let' try for impeachment
and make the country so angry they will throw
the Democrats out for another 20 years.

Timing is everything in politics.

It does not matter how I feel about GWB and
Impeachment, get the timing wrong and we are
worse off than ever. You will make Bush
popular again.

13. I've said this a million times now. We are not going to have a "perfect" candidate. I chose Edwards.
Edited on Wed Jun-06-07 11:42 AM by jsamuel
Others are waiting for Gore, but I chose Edwards. I posted a while ago that I thought that Gore was our best chance, but I have changed my mind. I think Edwards is. If you want someone exactly like you, you can run yourself or wait till another election because it isn't going to happen in this one.

15. Support him for what?
Edited on Wed Jun-06-07 11:47 AM by RestoreGore
I wish he would say publicly that we should at least try to regardless of having the votes or not as a symbolic gesture and because morally it is right especially in light of the words in his book, but him not saying that at this time is not contingent on my supporting his work now. And as he has already stated, he is not a candidate nor does he plan to be one.
