10. Yeah, but these guys are themselves a repeat, and an example of forgetting the past.
Preserving their memory serves no one but them.

23. I'd back that idea, though I think they'd be better served otherwise than just a monument.
Like, maybe, getting houses and jobs to Katrina victims already, or the surviving Iraqi civilians. Or giving decent healthcare to the vets they pretend to support.

27. A toppled bronze statue of him with it's head missing.
It would stand in a circular plaza and surrounding it would be the toppled remains of the WTC, a large fountain shaped like New Orleans with bodies floating in it and a few hundred bombed out cars and trucks surrounding the rest of the plaza. In front of it all I would place a large tombstone engraved with this: "Here lies the Honor of the once great nation of the United States of America."

33. "Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair."
Ozymandias---Shelley

I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said--"Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desart....Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
5 And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
10 My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings,
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

Jefferson Memorial. He was a brilliant scientist, hard working public servant, avid reader, and he believed in liberty. You can't get more opposite-of-Bush than that.

40. An idea based on your idea of a very deep hole...
How about an inverse of the Vietnam memorial... Instead of having a wall rising up from the ground, have a wall descending into a long gash or trench almost like a knife creating a wound in the Earth. At the point of "the knife" would be the name George W. Bush and behind his name would be the names of the GOP and its supporters.
