Anyone get the impression that Hillary will let by-gones be by-gones... |
|
Should she win the Presidency?
I distinctly got the feeling the other night that everyone on the stage (even Kucinich) would be invited as part of her cabinet.
I also noticed she is not attacking her fellow front-runners...Neither is Obama although he will go to the defense if attacked. ("4 years too late")
Granted I have not decided, but I feel that whomever wins the primary will be a good candidate.

I think she is going to follow in her husbands footsteps and the first cabinet will be a mix of all Dem stripes.
Bill did that with his first cabinet - of course Stephonapolis (sp?) stabbed him in the back

It would be so cool to be able to go with Sen. Clinton but as far as I can tell, she's much more receptive to her political consultants than she is to the needs of her potential constituency.

with an open mind, of course. :sarcasm:
I live in NYC and have many friends in staunchly conservative Upstate and, far as I can tell, repugs and Dems alike are mighty happy with our Senators Schumer and Clinton. Try as you might -- and you try pretty damn hard, by the way --, you just can't paint Hillary with that "do nothing" brush.
You're going to have to find another way to make her look bad.
good luck with that, though.

So, save it.

and keep hitting your head against that same brick wall. I trust this will be lost on you, but I'll offer it anyway.
I worked with Hillary in her 2000 Senatorial Campaign, am friends with her and her husband and daughter and still remember the kindness she's shown me time and again (when my mother suddenly died in 2000, when I opened in a play here in NYC, when my movie did well at SunDance). The Hillary you've created in your head and that you so actively hate bears no resemblance to the Hillary I've come to know and appreciate. You're attacking her for things that are, for the most part, untrue.
And I have no problem with that. Shows how incurious and petty you are; says very little about Hillary or her work. God forbid we have more people like you (ie. our ) gain positions of power and influence.

11. She Will Disembowel Any Strong Democrat |
|
The Clinton playbook is to savage any strong Democrat - anyone who might be competition for them. One example was the looney tirades they made against Howard Dean (using Carville as a mouthpiece), claiming that Dean had lost the '06 election.
This is why the Dems lost every freaking election once the Clintons took control of the Democratic party - they destroy any strong candidates, for fear that they'll grab the spotlight.

Every election?
1994 was of course a debacle with huge net losses for both House and Senate.
Let's see they of course won the 96 Presidential.
1996 also saw a net gain of 8 seats in the House for the Democrats though a net loss of 2 in the Senate due to two retirements and an upset.
1998 saw a net gain of 5 seats for the Democrats, virtually unheard of in the 2nd term of a same party President. There was no net change in the Senate.
2000 saw a net gain of 1 in the House and 4 in the Senate.

22. I wish,...she would support another woman for President. |
|
No. I do not believe she will be President. Yes, she is capable of leting "by-gones be by-gones".
She is an extraordinarily intelligent and persistent and courageous woman!!! SHE IS!!! I don't deny and fully acknowledge what she is!!! But, damnit, she COULD BE humble enough to take all the resources she and her husband acquired to support the first woman President IF IF IF she wasn't so SO SO ambitious.
She is going to KILL US OFF with all the baggage she carries (and, YES, that baggage is NOT entirely her own).
Why can't she acknowledge the fact that, she can be far more successful in working from the "inside-out" by defeating her right-wing enemy via a backdoor rather than being stubbornly self-ambitious?

46. Her husband was President. She wants to be President. |
|
She SHOULD HAVE BEEN PRESIDENT in lieu of her husband, quite frankly.
She wasn't.
Who knows, she may be the first female President of the USA. Personally, I WANT A FEMALE PRESIDENT. However, I do not believe she will be that because,...her husband already served and the 'right-wing' has all ready destroyed her. MOREOVER, she's failed to take a stand against US imperialism by CHOOSING to give the neocons total power AND her husband holds hands with Sr. Bush every goddamned chance he gets.
NO. The Clintons have proven their willingness to 'play' in order to politically survive. I can't say either would fail to actually SERVE democracy if they reach the 'top',...but, I can't say they aren't already failures in maintaining the health of our democratic experiment.
I can say NEITHER have inspired me to believe our country will rise above the corporate plutocracy that is KILLING DEMOCRACY, to date, because they hold hands with that bunch.
And,...that is all I can say.
