Fox News apologizes again for tape goof
NEW YORK - Fox News Channel issued a second on-air apology Wednesday for mistakenly running tape of a different congressman while reporting on the indictment of Rep. William J. Jefferson on bribery charges.

Chairman John Conyers of Michigan, whose picture aired while Fox anchors talked Monday about Jefferson's indictment, had been unhappy with Fox's apology Tuesday. Both congressmen are black.

Conyers was reportedly upset that Fox's first apology was nonspecific and didn't mention he was the victim.

On Wednesday, Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum explained to viewers that a production assistant picked up a tape that had been identified as a meeting about Jefferson. The picture showed Conyers.

"We regret this mistake," MacCallum said. "We in no way meant to suggest that there was any connection between the Jefferson indictment and Congressman Conyers. We have extended our apology privately to the congressman and we do so here as well."

A Conyers spokeswoman had no comment about the second apology.

Fox is just like the * administration. It blames its deliberate lies on the mistakes of underlings.

5. It's the intern's fault, it's the temp's fault.
Once I was a temp and it was around Christmas where some companies do that stupid gift exhange where you can swap with someone else if they don't like it. I had a cool gadget gift and one of the regular girls began to whine about what she got and how I had the better gift. Boss says, "Well, she's just a temp, so you can take it." Like I wasn't even there. Needles to say I didn't stay long in that catty office. Another girl there was showing her photos from a party at her house back in New Jersery when she was on vacation. I said "Oh, look at the watermelons". She goes, "Where?" snatching up the photo. I said, "On the kitchen counter." She said with relief, "OH, I thought you meant I had blacks at my party." I was dumbfounded to say the least. Man, you run from that racist crap and bam there it is in West Los Angeles. Everywhere nowadays that's for sure.

Anyway, FOX is full of crap and just lies, lies, lies.

13. off topic: the joys of temping
One place I'd worked at for a few months and become close with the "real" employees. When one of the employees had a birthday, they got to choose where to go for lunch. The employees invited me. Our "boss" told me the lunch was for "employees only." So I sat in the office by myself while my friends when to lunch. I guess when they got to the restaurant, someone asked where I was, and they called me to invite me down. It was kinda fun to tell them what the "boss" had said.

Anther time, I sat at a computer that had a maniquin head right next to it. Taped across the maniquins forehead was the word "temp."

Yea, I miss the good ol' daze.

18. I hear ya!
When I lived in Los Angeles County I temped all over the place. When my brother came for a visit I would point out all the places I worked at and he finally said, "Just tell me where you didn't work." A few temp jobs turned into full time but the temp jobs were fun. My favorite would have to be at CitiBank near LAX. Fun times there, let me tell you until my whole department was laid off.

7. Can someone tell me when a TV News Media crosses the line on
something like this. How many times can you make a mistake. Remember when Foley was caught and they kept running his picture with a D under his name? Also, they did the wrong photo before on something else, can't remember but we all know it is deliberate.

If I was a Faux listener or freeper I would be pissed that they think I am that dumb to fall for all of their so called mistakes. However, we do know the freepers are dumb and can't spell.

8. **** you, Fox. Nobody believes you anymore!
You "erroneously reported" on John Kerry...

Fox News apologises for Kerry fabrication

Oliver Burkeman in New York

The Guardian

Fox News, the influential rightwing US television network, said yesterday it had "reprimanded" its chief politi cal correspondent after its website carried fabricated quotes attributed to John Kerry, in which he called himself a "metrosexual" who enjoys getting manicures.
The network, owned by Ru pert Murdoch, apologised for the article in which the Democratic challenger was quoted telling a rally in Florida: "Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!" Comparing himself to the president, Mr Kerry was supposed to have said: "I'm metrosexual - he's a cowboy." Women voters, he purportedly added, "should like me! I do manicures."

...on Mark Foley being a "Democrat"

"O'Reilly Factor" Labels Mark Foley As Democrat
TVNewser | Brad Blog | Posted Wednesday October 4, 2006 at 09:19 AM

It's just a misplaced letter, but what a misplaced letter: Swapping a "D" for an "R" last night, Fox News and "The O'Reilly Factor" labeled disgraced pedophile Congressman Mark Foley, longtime Republican, as a Democrat. Courtesy of TVNewser, here's a clip; apparently it happened a number of times over the course of the broadcast, though they deleted the reference for the rerun (which, let's face it, still gets plenty of viewers). As O'Reilly railed against Foley and his actions — entirely appropriately, and as he has done previously — the visual message to his viewers was that the perpetrator of these heinous crimes against children was a Democrat. This comes at a time when Republicans are desperately fighting the perception that they permissively allowed Foley to go about his business (and his "business") on the hill, and that they are no longer the party of upright moral values.

Suggested Barack Obama was a "sex offender" by running video of Obama's campaign activities while talking about a sex offender:

These are only three that come to mind. I'm sure there are plenty more "mistakes."

FOX, go FUCK yourselves! (I can say that now since both Bush and Cheney use this kind of language).

No wonder fox news viewers are the stupidest people on the planet.

10. They might actually be telling the truth on this one
Fox News is not exactly all that competent.
Their news ticker on 48th Street in Manhattan at their main offices has major typos almost every time I walk by it which is quite often since I work in the area.
If they can't even get the simplest stuff (like how to spell) correct ...

16. exactly. nothing they do is "accidental"
their motives are as transparent as an old lady's underpants. Slip in some propaganda on the newsticker and graphics, then later apologize claiming it was a mistake. But the damage is dome and Faux's sheeple fall for it.

12. Oh please. William Jefferson, shall we say, has a most distinctive appearance.

By contrast, here's Conyers, looking quite dapper, not to mention with a mustache, and not as bald, either.

We compare, you decide. :eyes:

15. The damage is already done which goes to show that Faux News knows their viewers have a low IQ.
They showed Conyers with Gonzalez on purpose to make the connection in the minds of the knuckle draggers that the guy trying to get Gonzalez is the guy who is charged with taking bribes.

The apology can't change the impression in the minds of the freepers.

19. I say, let 'em keep apologizing. Over and over and over again!
The same way they keep airing misinformation over and over and over again, or beating the drum on something terrible a Dem supposedly said until they feel the need to apologize over and over and over again...
