1. He is just plain wrong
I like his position but he wrong on the history. Truman was able to do what he did becuase, thank goodness, there was no law backing military segregation. There is a law forbidding sodomy which couldn't be gotten rid of by executive fiat. He needed Congress to repeal that law or else every gay person in the service would have to be chaste or else they would be removed.
