Rep. Kucinich convinces CNN to include all candidates during
discussion of faith, spirituality and religious beliefs

http://kucinich.us/node/4585

"Because of the actions of Dennis Kucinich on Sunday night (June3), viewers of CNN on Monday (June 4) were given the opportunity to hear the spiritial and faith-based views of seven Democratic candidates for President, not just three candidates as CNN had originally planned.

Several weeks ago, a religious organization called Sojouners announced it would hold a forum on faith and religion with only three presidential candiates, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Barack Obama. Despite many objections from the other campaigns, Sojourners insisted it was only capable of interviewing three candidates, saying it hesitated to invite more than three candidates because it "wanted to create the space for a deeper engagement on the issues in the relatively short period of nationally televised coverage of the forum."

Even with Sojourners' failure to provide its members with a true picture of the presidential campaign, CNN then made the decision to broadcast the Sojourners forum. However the day before the broadcast -- in a 10 p.m. conversation following the New Hampshire debate -- Dennis Kucinich engaged the president of CNN in a discussion about the inappropriateness of excluding more than half of the candidates. CNN agreed with Rep. Kucinich, and thus offered the other five candidates an opportunity to participate in the second hour of the show. Four of those candidates readjusted their schedules to accept the network's offer.

Here is the video of the interview with CNN's Paula Zahn and Rep. Kucinich"

2. I Suppose Next, We'll Have Primaries For The "Top 3" Only As Well?!?!
This is soooooo sickening. I am glad that Dennis spoke up!

3. Agree this is so sickening and glad that he pushed the issue,
still they received less than half the time.

Scary thought

"I Suppose Next, We'll Have Primaries For The "Top 3" Only As Well?!?!"

This should be an interesting debate that will not get televised, too bad the top three declined for whatever reason.

5. Thank you Kucinich. He does deserve to be at least considered as a
serious contender for President. He really does deserve respect.

8. Considered? I hope so, he questioning the intel when others
were willing to trust Bush. This invasion could end up costing 2 trillion according to some estimates, can you imagine what we could have done for the poor with that money!

And let's not forget the blowback our children might suffer in the future.

Now the oil workers have begun a strike in part due to the draft oil law and once again Kucinich is one of the few and the only candidate speaking up for the union workers.

I hope more will consider him.

:hi:

15. My guess is cost
Out of all the candidates, Gravel is running on the least money.

Or it could be he's not that religious. Either way.

13. Yes, but it was not CNN who only invited the top three it was
Rev. Jim Wallis.

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=3242499&page=1&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312

"The evangelical minister hosting Monday's discussion of faith, values and poverty with Sens. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., Barack Obama, D-Ill., and former North Carolina Democratic Sen. John Edwards sees 2008 as a turning point for faith-based progressives...

Rather than invite all eight Democratic presidential candidates to Monday's discussion at George Washington University, Wallis decided to limit the invitation list to Clinton, Obama and Edwards, in order to foster a "more thoughtful, deeper, reflective" conversation among those candidates who he thinks have a realistic chance of winning their party's nomination.

after all... who is realistically going to become a leader??

Or - in Freeper-speak, an Oxycontin-Moran?
