Pressed by Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Lieutenant General Doug Lute turned a question on his areas of dissent on Iraq into a riff on his "personal lessons" from the war. Of particular significance: There is "no purely military" solution in Iraq, Lute said, nor is there an "American-only" solution.

1. After all Bush's thrashing around to find a War Czar, and he gets this from his choice? LOL

My My How times have changed.

I would have expected a dyed in the wool ideologue to spout Bush's failed talking points.

It just follows that if Bush could not get a 4 star General to head up his disaster of a war, and he had to settle on a Lieutenant General to fill the slot, that almost no one agrees with Bush's assessment and strategy for this war.

They should end the hearing, hold a press conference, and announce we are moving forward with vote to end this war --which is exactly where we are headed anyway, and we are not going to let hundreds more innocent lives be lost because we do not have the political will to act sooner rather than later.
