Tucker thinks the Plame controversy is “bullsh*t.”
MSNBC’s Tucker Carlson, whose father, Richard Carlson, is on the advisory committee of Scooter Libby’s legal defense fund, spoke to Salon today about Valerie Plame’s covert status: “CIA clearly didn’t really give a sh*t about keeping her identity secret if she’s going to work at f*cking Langley.” Carlson then added “I call bullsh*t on that, I don’t care what they say,” regarding prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald’s assertion that Plame continued to travel under non-official cover while working at Langley. Plame herself has confirmed her covert status under oath.

1. Many covert agents work at or visit Langley...
He's displaying his ignorance (real or feigned) once again.

16. Ideally
If someone was covert how would any one know regardless of where they were? My neighbor could work for the CIA and I wouldn't know, but I am just totally amazed at how many brilliant conservative scholars absolutely know without a doubt that she was not covert. Which then begs the question, if she were not covert why the need to "expose" her identity? If she were just an insignificant desk jockey how could her "exposure" harm her or her husband, and harm was exactly the goal of the white house? Rational thought destroys conservative arguments on any issue. Conservatives are idiots who value the party more then they do our country.

Doesn't matter what Tucker thinks
If Scooter did not want to be convicted of perjury or obstruction of justice, he should of told the truth... That is how the American Justice System is set up... He took the lesser of two evils...

17. It also doesn't matter what Tucker thinks because CIA Director, Michael Hayden, said
that Plame was covert.

2. Well, Tucker certainly knows how to craft an argument.
Ignore the facts, and swear often.

Nicely done, Mr. Bowtie.

3. Did he reveal his personal connection to the case?
If not, I don't know why he isn't fired. True journalists have been fired for much less. It used to be that journalists valued the idea of conflicts of interest and worked hard to avoid even the appearance of such.

It shows how low "journalism" has fallen in this country, utterly taken over by corporations.

4. He is not a journalist...he is an entertainer like Rush Limbo...
And as such nothing he says can be taken seriously.

8. Tucker has a serious conflict of interest regarding this topic.
And I don't believe he's ever revealed this to his viewers.

Hypocrit.

I don't watch him. I can't stand him. I don't like the sound of his voice, I don't like the way he looks, he can't dance, and he's a Repuke. More than enough reasons to never pay any attention to him.

Yeah, what does the CIA know about covert agents? Tucker can always ask his dad whether or not she's covert.

10. It matters not. The crimes were obstruction of justice and perjury.
Edited on Thu Jun-07-07 10:45 AM by WinkyDink
Whoever was or did anything else, Scooter demonstrably, and was therefore CONVICTED OF HAVING, LIED and OBSTRUCTED JUSTICE.

Perhaps some day the RW braintrusts will, you know, MENTION this.

12. Not too much of a different opinion than Congress
In my view, by the time 2008 rools around, alberto gonzalez will still be the attorney general, nothing will have changed in Iraq, and we wil be asking ourselves, WHY?

13. Sure - because Dem spokespeople in 2003-4 were protecting Bush WH more than
siding with Plame and Wilson.

That's what happens when you have the most prominent Dem spokesperson on TV married to a GOP and WH war criminal.

14. Tucker...thinks?
He is a tool and as a former master automotive technician, I can assure you tools don't think.

Those shows are not news productions; they are meant strictly for entertainment, pretty much the same thing you can find on the comedy channel.
Tucker apparently draws enough of a crowd, as an entertainer, so that msnbc approves. His other connections are merely added sauce, just in case msnbc really starts demanding factual substance, instead of mere entertainment.

Unfortunately the dumbass public considers them to be journalists, instead of what they really are, and thus the crap continues to get spread.

Tucker and his guests are the stars of a rather shabby show that uses current events, as well as a bit of history, to stage a daily conversation that pretends to be a serious commentary about the news but is, in fact, a right wing equivalent of All In The Family.
