They had quite a few copies of Assault on Reason on the shelf. I went today and purchased the last copy. Go Al!

two new books from my favorite author, James Lee Burke. Jesus Out To Sea is a collection of short stories, available now in paperback and on July 28th, his latest Dave Robicheaux book "The Tinroof Blowdown" will hit the bookstores. A crime story about New Orleans post Katrina. Burke is on incredible read if you like murder, mayhem and an aging kick ass ex-cop and his sidekick roaming the highways and backroads of South Louisiana. Bad guys don't fare well in these books.

The actual comment was serious, though. I've met so many people who get their information, nearly exclusively, from blogs, websites, word of mouth, etc. Reading a book takes time and, hopefully, yield a more thoughtful approach to the material.

One in my office, one in the living room and one in the garage. The dictionary is my favorite book because all the rest of them are in it.
