"Aperitif?"

US President George W. Bush takes an aperitif on the terrace of the Kempinski Grand Hotel in Heiligendamm, northeastern Germany, following a working session of the G8 Summit. President Vladimir Putin on Thursday offered to set up a joint Russian-US anti-missile base to end a crisis between the two countries as Group of Eight leaders agreed a face-saving compromise on climate change.(AFP/DDP/David Hecker)

18. or drink fake beer out of what appears to be a genuine Kolsch glass
http://www.leevalley.com/gifts/page.aspx?c=1&p=45168&cat=4,104,53217

The local beer, Kölsch, is brewed only in the Cologne region and must not only conform to the German Beer Purity Act of 1516, but must also be served only in these special slim, graceful 1/5 litre (6.8 fl oz) glasses called "stangen" (rods).

6. aren't aperitifs alcoholic, anyway?
I don't know much about them (but I know beer, and that could certainly be a beer--by the glass I'd guess some sort of Pils), but aren't aperitifs usually alcoholic?

So, even if it's not a beer, isn't this still proof that the chimp's off the wagon?

8. Any alcoholic beverage taken before a meal is technically an aperitif
Although most think that an aperitif is a snaps like drink.
Beer he is drinking I hope it is Coors or Budweiser

it would be a shame to waste good German beer on his bladder.

31. Confirms what I've suspected for some time.
Our Georgie has fallen off the wagon. Hard.

And if there's anything scarier than a practicing alcoholic as the most powerful human on the planet, it's a practicing alcoholic who couldn't think straight even when he was sober.

37. I agree, it's a non-alcoholic beer.
He wouldn't drink on camera, and besides, I'm convinced it's pills he's on....anti-depressants and mood stuff, his a.m. pressers he seems alternately too relaxed and slurry or too combative. I think they're trying like hell to regulate his increasingly erratic behavior with varying levels of success.

and I'm sure his conversations with God keep him on the straight and narrow . . .

George W. Bush, President of the United States and reformed alcoholic, drinking a beer?? . . . why, the very notion is blasphemous . . . and thoroughly ridiculous!!! . . . the nerve of some people . . .

need I point out the :sarcasm:?
