First and foremost, we miss these dear souls who have left us...they have taken huge chunks out of our hearts. But most importantly, shouldn't they be remembered for the work, and in some cases, the enormous physical sacrifices they have undertaken in order to keep us one body and soul? They represent the best of us and bring out the better Angels in our nature.

We should Make Molly Ivans a member of the wall.
If it wasn't for her how many of us would be here?
Maybe we should set up the wall in the below format:

loginname - that links to their writings in the archives so we can see their words of wisdom or frustration
real name, state lived, born date - death date, cause of death - I think cause of death is important, especially for those we have lost in Iraq
Profession - We should know what we all have done. We should see the range of members. rich and poor. We are not all middle class.


We might also want to include non-members, but the liberal voices, and what they did to inspire us.

maybe less than a forum, than a page of mourning, like the Vietnam Wall. A place to reflect only. But more because we can see what they did.

Aside from being friends of ours, who knows how many people's minds were changed by them? DU began as a tiny little website after the 2000 election. Now it's a huge, important site and a "lifeline" to many. They all helped to do that. Let's show some appreciation.
