Introducing Sen. Lynne Cheney
Edited on Thu Jun-07-07 09:14 PM by Steve_DeShazer

Lynne Cheney, the wife of Vice President Cheney, is “being floated in Senate GOP leadership circles as a possible replacement for the late Sen. Craig Thomas (R-WY), who died Monday night.”

Wyoming law ensures that the Thomas’ “seat will remain in Republican control, and the balance of power in the Senate will remain unchanged.” Should Cheney be nominated, however, her record indicates that Wyoming’s Senate representation would shift to the far-right of the political spectrum:

10. Is the Dem governor obligated
to appoint a GOP replacement? IOW, what would a GOP governor do if it were a Dem seat?

12. I read elsewhere on DU that the state GOP will give the democratic governor a list
of three names from which to choose

in Wyoming, by law, the senator replaced must remain in the party of whomever has left office

17. What if the Gov just delays and doesn't appoint anyone.....
Does the law manadate a timetable? Say the Gov just mulls his decision over for 3 or 4 years?

15. Correct. The governor has to pick from three Repubs
Under Wyoming law, Thomas's replacement will be appointed by Wyoming Governor David Freudenthal, a Democrat, who will select from a list of three people recommended by the Wyoming Republican Party, according to the state Elections Director Peggy Nighswonger.

11. Oh no! Mary is a pussy cat compared to Lynn!
Lynn is very much the same as her husband, and both appear to be pure evil!

Mary is all blabber, and the Ragin Cajun is much the same, but they don't have the evil genes that the Cheney's do..I doubt many other people do either!

19. The Democratic Governor would NEVER pick her. He has to choose from 3 people the repukes send up.
I doubt that hag would be his first pick.
