Greenpeace Boat Rammed by police
sorry if this is a mispost or a duplicate. I am still trying to figure out all the areas here. Has anyone seen this? This is absolutely crazy. How can the authorities get away with this? It looks like theres a protester under the bow of the police boat. I sure hope he/she got out of the way of the outboard.

12. Violence takes two to tango.
There's the inviter and the invited. This incident required, and was provided with, both...

But your Yang has over balanced your Ying.

15. Perhaps, but given the USS Cole incident...
the Greenpeace protestors are lucky they survived the incident, and that neither they nor anyone stopping them was killed in the process that the protestors unilaterally initiated.

Good night.

19. Attacks that killed Americans... with small fast marine craft.
I was hoping you would recognize the reference. I have withdrawn that hope and simply hope that by writing this, others will.

Sorry to have wasted your individual time.

20. US Liberty is more like it.
I got your reference but

Your lack of a true historical understanding
of why it happened is embraced by Clintonistic historical reference
and embraced by your Zionism in your posts.

Tell me about the US liberty?

How do you feel about that observation that deserved violence?

3. The article is self explanatory
Greenpeace protesters were aiming to score a publicity coup by breaching the massive security and reaching the luxury summit hotel in the resort of Heiligendamm - and they nearly succeeded.

The powerful inflatables were well within the five-mile aquatic no-go zone before a red alert went out to the armada of police and naval boats patrolling offshore to stop them.

A police motor launch rammed the inflatables, pitching the crew of one into the sea. Three people were injured and taken to hospital after being picked up by the officers who sank them.

They intentionally violated a restricted area and were stopped. They should have known the risks going in.

4. I understand the authorities had to stop them, but
What the protesters did was rather stupid, but that seems rather extreme. Also, I wonder what this will do for greeenpeace? Will it garner sympathy or will it make people turn from them. Does this help or hurt them?

5. Not sure what their intent was. There are not any safe way to stop a RIB that I know of,
so the risks were clear. Also not clear what kind of safety gear was being worn besides hi viz vests

6. My god, look at the photograph!
It's of the larger police boat running a-top of a small protesting boat. If this was the secene on land... the big coppers running over the smaller group protesting the employers of the cops, well then the outcry would be different. Just look at the way the cops treated people in the WTO protests in Seattle in 1999 and the way they drive right over top of them now-a-days. What's next? Caged in 'democracy places'? Oh yeah.... that's already happening in G.W.'s America.

10. That was my point...
The big boat is flat out running over the RIB. you can see a protester getting squashed. when you open the article, you can see they have HUGE boats. Why mow them down? Why couldn't they have netted them with a fishing type boat or something?

14. *shrug* how do you stop a small, fast boat?
Did the police have any way of *knowing* there wasn't a bomb on that boat, for instance?
