Tonight I shake my fist at the Gods |
|
Another good soul like Monkeyman has to depart and leave us more alone. Meanwhile vermin rules this world and spreads its filth unabated.
I try not to despair for those that have transitioned to The All/The Source/God/Heaven, whatever, such is the way the wheel turns, but tonight I'm finally angry. I am a spiritual man but hardly a religious one anymore. I believe it is folly to question or even attempt to understand forces which are beyond our level of evolution. God may indeed be an astronaut; Or he may simply not be anything at all. Only Monkeyman knows for sure right now and I hope there is some kind of peace waiting for him if even only the peace of nonexistence.
But as a spiritual man I confess now an anger brewing. It is an anger at my own anger because I know better than such things. In light of the despair this world has fallen into however I, MAN, must ask to the heavens WHY? If there is, as I believe, a positive and negative balance to the universe then when is positive/good going to finally catch up? Evil has been kicking ass for millenium now. I don't believe in some climactic biblical story about the end times and the final battle between good and evil, but if it is set up to go down that way for fucks sake let's get on with it because now I want in on this fight.
I'm a pacifist that wants blood. I ride a razor of emotion. I want the unjust who have defiled this great experiment called mankind and made it fail brought to the same fate as any of the good and innocent lost to the destruction of their machinations.
I realize Monkeyman didn't fall in some grand "war" but really in my mind he did. He played his role and the fates will have who they come for. It's just my opinion that there are many much more deserving to part this plane before they, or people that love them, think they should.
We wait for the justice ye Gods.
Reincarnation I believe in so I figure to have a dog in the last fight whenever or wherever it comes. I used to look forward to living new lives. Now I dread coming back to this world because it all goes downhill from here and there aren't enough of us left with strength enough to stop it anymore I fear.
Monkeyman is at peace but he didn't live to see peace. Didn't live to see the fight won. Didn't make it over the mountain with us; And who among us actually will. He should have been allowed to see hope renewed in this lifetime, and that is the saddest part of his passing.
Meanwhile vermin rule and prey and kill. The weak, the helpless, the poor.
How can we take it anymore?
I'm ashamed I was never able to meet Dale although I knew him very casually on here he seemed to always respond to my posts. Us crazy spiritual folks can spot people we've probably been through a few eons with too sometimes and I think MM looked familiar. Listening to CSNY's "Deja Vu" as I write this coincidently enough.
I guess the point of this rambling essay that I'm writing through tears for a friend I never met but am pretty sure I would have enjoyed "havin a beer with" (sorry couldn't resist MM) is that we need to close this circle even tighter people. We are all we have left in some cases I suspect. Anyone on here who is within 100 miles of each other for Gods sakes go meet each other. Leave the house, have lunch, fall in love, testify together. The higher powers are clearly taking a powder on this planet so it's all up to us. Love you all S

2. Who is to say that he won't be with you when you cross that mountain? |
|
He never gave up hope and he left this world a bit better because I have no doubt that he aided in teaching others to keep up the good fight for justice to prevail, though he may no longer appear visable, don't doubt he will shine through others....a beautiful and heart wrenching post and a wonderful tribute to a man you did not honestly ever get the chance to meet face to face, obviously that didn't matter, he touched many ....

I only knew Monkeyman from his posts and I was very sad to hear that his wife passed away recently. It is such a shock to hear that he too has passed on.
I sometimes have the same thoughts--if there truly is an order to this universe, then let's see it! I'm tired of living in the chaos and wonder if spiritual folks have been overshadowed by those on the dark side. It seems to be "hip" nowadays to only think of oneself, to be brutal, unfeeling and greedy. This is the result of the Bush "lame-acy" of neocons running everything and now they have run it into the ground. I fear things are going to have to get worse before the greedy ones are made aware of the consequences of the past 7 years.

6. I'm thinking of all the people I've met here at DU over the years |
|
such good people gone. Some dead, some moved on. Some were banned. I have to say, good people. Some really smart, brilliant posters and some very compassionate.
Gone but not forgotten.

8. So true, many brilliant minds gone and not just departing this world... |
|
some just couldn't take the atmosphere on du and as you stated others get banned because they had had enough and let loose what some felt were breaking du rules, I wish they would come back, I have been reading on this site for so long and your right, far too many gone but never forgotten.

10. Maybe "We" are the Gods left... |
|
My Dad has been in the hospital. They want him to go to Hospice. I leave tomorrow to see if there will be time to say my last good by in person rather than what I have already said over the phone.
I sent him "At home with God" by Neal Donald Walsh. I thought it might help him. He didn't "believe" like Neal does, and didn't finish reading the book. I have read the first "Conversations with God" and "Friendship with God" by Neal and enjoyed them also. The first Conversations I just found fun and interesting reading. Friendship I was more impressed with, and it made me think of my own actions and thoughts more carefully.
I should also say I have read most of Carlos Castaneda's works, and tried to have lucid dreams where I know who I am in my awake life and that I am within the dream world and see what I can learn from the "inorganic beings" of that world. (from :"The Art of Dreaming")
Anyhow, mostly I am a lurker here, trying to see what I can learn from my fellow citizens on this planet. I have read many of MM's posts. Sad to hear he has passed. I did light a candle for him. Many Blessings, for him, his and our relationships.
Peace, ADW

I haven't read Walsh but got to "Journey to Ixtlan" with Carlos. My dreams have been very weird and almost lucid lately. Always recurring in the same settings and similar characters although it's no one I know from this reality.

12. He will be helping the angles fight for justice from the other side |
|
because we have demons fighting for greed and hatred in this one. He'll be joining a mighty Force. There are some dead Muslims that are looking for a leader. Christians, Muslims, Jews, Nudists, and Atheists are all working for Peace now, under God. And She's pissed!

15. In my more cynical moments (which is most of the time these days) |
|
I don't believe Good vanquishes Evil.
It seems to me that Evil, being inherently destructive, implodes on itself eventually but when it's at its zenith Good seems to crumble before it. Good can hasten Evil's eventual implosion but it wouldn't prevail if Evil wasn't ultimately a self-destructive force.
Still, following the Good is the only option for me because it does build up and unify and nurture the best in us. Ultimately, it is there to nurse the wounds inflicted by Evil.
And we can all use that these days.

Although I think Zeus was more infamous for his thunderbolts. What is man's soul for if not to learn and question about its nature.

I was sitting here just to numb too write out a thing about him.
And once the numbness falls away, rage will surely take its place. I will be glad to have the words you post Shadow, to read and think about.
Also I feel regret about not meeting him. Although several thousand miles separate us, he is in the same damn suburb of Chicago that a close friend lives in - I too am wishing I had left her house and gone and shared a beer.
