Gee, I wonder who asked them to do that? And is there any connection to Bush's sudden "flu?"

CAPTION CLARIFICATION - REISSUING TO CLARIFY THAT PRESIDENT BUSH IS DRINKING A NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER.

23. Good point! I verified that statement and you are right. Now...
could that possibly mean that Bush gets drunk easily with regular beer but he gets a good buzz with "non-alcohol" beer?

I still want proof that it is a "non-alcohol" beer.

If Bush quit cold turkey drinking beer then wouldn't one avoid drinking anything that even tastes like beer?

and it has been very common for a long time. It was being sold everywhere I went when I was there *cough* 20+ years ago. I bought a bottle of it thinking it was regular beer only to find out it was N/A beer in fact. It was a dark beer and it tasted not that great if I remember right.

No, not the amber where his hand is, but the pale piss yellow where his hand isn't on the other side of the glass.

That is the color of Buckler. Nice theory, but the facts don't match. The beer by the way, came straight out of a bottle. Dumbass poured it straight into the pilsner glass (apparently doesn't know how to pour beer into a glass) and it foamed up all over the table.

If Bush's bubble handlers were so organized that they could sneak a real beer into a Buckler bottle, how come they're still so stupid that they let him sit right next to Merkel again? You know that's just courting disaster. Bush does some screwed up stuff, but drinking a beer in front of cameras isn't one of them. Hell, photo ops is about the only thing his crew cares about.

15. Coming at you live and in color from Germany
There is indeed such a thing here as alcohol-free beer.
Don't ask me what it tastes like. Unlike Bush, I
REALLY don't drink alcohol (real waste being in
Germany, I know, I know), and I don't drink the
imitation stuff either.

But the fact there is such a thing does not mean
Bush is drinking it. On the other hand, one can
easily get a stomach flu from drinking water one
is not used to. I suspect that it is water in general
that Bush is not used to.

but those I know in AA won't even drink "non-alcoholic" beer. They've said more than once to me that "if you sit in the barber shop long enough, you'll get a haircut."

25. Non-alcoholic beer doesn't have the kind of head that clings
to the glass like that one is. That's the real thing. All bartenders and brewers, who know how to pour beer, strive for the kind of head on lagers and ales that cling to the side of the glass when drained and it's really hard to do with a non-alcoholic beer, especially one that's been carried around on a tray for awhile. (Ex-bartender and beer connoisseur here.)

33. Again, check the facts
Bush poured the Buckler out of the bottle himself (even spilled it because it foamed up over the top--typical of the dumbass). It wasn't "carried around on a tray for awhile."

Here's the photo of him guzzling

But here is the one where you can see how it got all foamy. He's not used to drinking from a glass. Or, I suspect, dining with grown ups.

Honestly, people are spending more time with these photos than the Oswald "funny shadows" rifle photo.

39. He poured it correctly then. People are under the mistaken
notion that beer should be poured on the side of the glass to avoid a head. This is wrong. It should be poured directly in the glass to create a head. This releases the carbon dioxide bubbles that give you gas. Of course if you are drunk already, most likely you will let it spill over the top of the glass, which I am going to assume he was or at least he was medicated making him uncoordinated. It doesn't mean that the beer that made it into the glass was compromised.

Then when you drink the beer the head should cling to the side of the glass. (This requires a very clean glass.) This technique is how brewers like their beer to be poured to preserve the full flavor. It's especially important with full-flavored brews like stouts and ales. Pouring these special beers flat or drinking them directly out of the bottle flattens out the flavor and often makes them taste bitter. It also gives you gas, which accounts for the beer belches.

42. Make sure you have a really clean glass. Many beer connoisseurs,
like myself keep aside special glasses for beer only. Wash them well with brushes or a really clean cloth and a good detergent, then rinse with really hot water. If the glass is clean the rinse water should sheet off. Air dry on a rack. DO NOT TOWEL DRY. When you are ready for your brew. Make sure that your beer is between 33 and 40 degrees cool (average fridge temp). Pour as I said and enjoy. If the head doesn't cling to the glass as you drink, the glass isn't clean or the temperature isn't right. You will find you will enjoy better flavor and less gas this way.

beer changes the temperature of the glass in a few minutes. Then you get a nice flat, tasteless beer that is no colder than the cooler it came out of. Better you should chill your beer down to no less than 33 degrees F, or you will end up with near frozen beer, if you want a really cool but flavorful brewski. I had a really dumb barmaid once, who worked under my supervision, who tried to freeze wine cubes. Alcohol doesn't freeze but the temperatures will affect the flavor.

On edit: I know a bunch of chemists are going to swoop in here to correct me. So let me qualify my statement and say that alcohol doesn't freeze very well in our normal day to day freezers and coolers.

Many styles like Hefe Weisse are poured down the side of a glass to about 3/4 full before finishing off down the center for a nice head.

Each style has its quirks.

Edited on Fri Jun-08-07 12:51 PM by Cleita
I think your Hefe Weisse could be poured straight as well. Also, it depends on what shape container you are pouring it into and how clean the glass is. There is too much information here for just a post so I won't go into it. Often the bubbles on the side of the glass give away the fact that your beer is cleaning the glass for you and I could see where pouring it on the side and letting it clean the glass could still give you a decent head that clings to the side of the glass essential to a satisfying glass of beer.
