‘Massive and systemic violations’ of human rights.

A Council of Europe investigator says that he has “enough evidence to state” that the CIA operated secret prisons in Poland and Romania. Der Spiegel obtained a copy of the report:

The illegal deportation of suspects by CIA kidnapping teams in Europe amounts to a “massive and systematic violation of human rights,” the report says.

(Dick) Marty, who conducted the investigation on behalf of the Council of Europe, accuses the CIA of having committing a number of transgressions: “We believe we have shown that the CIA committed a whole series of illegal acts in Europe by abducting individuals, detaining them in secret locations and subjecting them to interrogation techniques tantamount to torture.”

4. We truly have become the Fourth Reich right down to the
concentration camps and persecution of anyone deemed arbitrarily to be an enemy of our state. Perhaps it's time to put the whole Bush administration into these camps to enjoy the same hospitality.

5. No wonder Bush is sick in Germany
They should just cart him off to the Hague and save an airfare.

7. You mean that our CIA really isn't a bunch of heroic humanitarians??!!??
And, here I thought their deeds in Congo, Greece, Honduras, Angola, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba, Chile, Haiti, Guatemala, Venezuela, etc, etc, etc, were merely the acts of a "few bad apples".

Of course, the heroes who assassinated, murdered, tortured, kidnapped, and subverted democratic governments, were "just following orders".
