I just threw up into my soul.
Again.

The fucking Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has been show the door. No small event, that.

Yet MSNBC and CNN are both showing two women trying to pour themselves through the keyhole of the Paris Hilton house. The BBC is there, and German TV, and everyone else.

Peter Pace is gone.

Not like you'd know.

24. Pace also disagreed w/Rummy on torture...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Pace#2000s.3B_Joint_Chiefs_of_Staff

On November 29, 2005, Gen. Pace was present at a press conference given by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, where Rumsfeld said that "the United States does not have a responsibility" to prevent torture by Iraqi officials. Pace disagreed with Rumsfeld, saying "It is the absolute responsibility of every U.S. service member, if they see inhumane treatment being conducted, to intervene, to stop it".

I thought when I clicked on DU yesterday that I'd find a refuge from the Paris insanity...but no, it's here too. Two days ago I had the TV on while I was working and "The View" came on "Today's hot topic; Paris goes to prison"!said the announcer. At first I thought "OK, Rosie's gone. It's back to insipid nonsense". Yes, they spent the next 10 minutes yammering on about Paris (I turned it off and listened to a podcast instead), but imagine my surprise when a friend later told me that CNN was doing the same thing! ENOUGH ALREADY MSM! WE'VE HAD IT WITH GOSSIP TV! Give us some REAL news that actually effects each of us, OK?
