My internets were down for two hours and I was forced to watch afternoon
television. All of the fucking new channels were cover (LIVE) :grr: the preacher wife getting sentenced (210 days for killing her abusive husband) and the Paris Hilton Tripe. :grr:

What the fuck is happening to this country.

:grr:

7. It's probably better for you to watch reruns of Roseanne or Cosby on local stations
if you want some escapism.

Otherwise, go on the net and get some real news from the Guardian or some other European paper.

9. Hey, most soaps are crap but General Hospital has mobsters and killings
And it tends to be a little campy at times. Much better than most daytime fare. (It's the only soap I will watch when I am home.)

11. That's the one she watches. Something at 1:00 also.
I don't know what that one is. All seem the same to me.

12. Not sure about the 1:00 one, but if you're stuck with GH
ask who the mobsters are. :)

6. We have no honorable news media anymore that the ordinary
busy person can watch for an hour a day to get caught up with current events. We can't even trust our print media anymore either, because they put the tabloid stories on the first page and the real news is buried on the last pages in one paragraph synopsises.

When the Nazis took over the media (print, radio and film) in Germany, circulation of the propaganda press dropped way. People stopped reading the BS, which was also really boring because no one could criticize the Fuehrer or the government. The state propped up those unprofitable enterprises though. I think the same thing is happening here.
