Matthews: "You can get 218 Votes that the money is used only to redeploy"
Edited on Fri Jun-08-07 04:31 PM by FLDem5
Pelosi: "Yes"

Is this their September plan?

(on edit - sorry that was so uninformative - but I got really excited. On Hardball, Pelosi was discussing how to end this war - Matthews asked if they would try with the next funding bill. Pelosi said that strategy would be that Bush would get the money he asked for - but it was to be used only to redeploy the troops. Matthews asked if she could get a veto-proof majority of 218 - she said Yes.)

1. Umm, sorry Nancy
If you had the votes, then the McGovern amendment would have passed. Instead, Hoyer and the Blue Dogs decided t bolt in the other direction

3. I remember Murtha saying that they didn't have the votes this time
but they would in September. I don't know what the difference will be then, but I am hoping. What else can I do.

Pelosi sounded great on Hardball.

9. It grows closer to the election season
Pukes want Iraq off the radar before they run again, like they are not accountable.

13. September is the deadline many Republicans have given Bush
Edited on Fri Jun-08-07 05:40 PM by Buck Rabbit
for the surge to work. A group of them met with * and then leaked this deadline for the surge to work to the media. Supposedly some Republican strategists think September is the latest that a vulnerable Republican can stick with Bush and get re-elected in 2008.

Pelosi and Murtha are aware of this, that is why the funding bill was only to September. Will the Republicans in re-election peril bail on this deadline? We will see. But it is a good bet that Gordon Smith and others in deep shit over the war can't wait long to make a walk your talk clean break from Bush.

*edited out meaningless extra words that somehow got in my post.

2. ??? What money, the $100 billion that dems gave Bush to in a blank check?
...$85 billion of that was signed over to subcontractor agreements and only $15 billion goes to American troops. Bush has already blown that money.

....by Bush and the grand plan to destroy the U.S. Constitutional Democracy so it can be replaced with a corporately run state, perhaps even a monarchy
