Officials Investigate Violent Attack At Mink Farm

(KDKA) BOYERS Officials are investigating after a brutal attack on a Butler County mink farm that has left hundreds of animals dead.

Police say a total of 443 mink and two dogs were killed in the attack on Wednesday morning at Oakwood Farm in Marion Township.

The owner of the farm, Kim DeMatteis, says the farm is her family’s life.

“They just massacred the whole ranch,” she told KDKA. “They just totally beat and destroyed all the baby mink and all the mothers that were nursing.”

Officials say the farm has about 2800 mink, which were all let out of their pens. Hundreds of the animals were trampled in the process, but the family was able to round many of them.

The family’s two dogs were also killed in the attacks.

2. Actually, this has happened before.

And by animal lovers. They broke into the mink farm intending to set the mink free.

Unfortunately, mink fight each other to the death, and when they opened up the cages there was were hundreds of mink scraping it out, and the animal rights nuts panicked and fled, running over many on the way out.

I've seen a lot of footage of mink farm liberations, and I've never seen anything like that. In every liberation video I've seen, people open up the cages, the mink run away.
