Rice: History Will Rate Bush Well
NEW YORK: Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says history will remember President George W. Bush's foreign policy favorably despite current troubles in Iraq, Iran, North Korea and the Middle East

"History's judgment is rarely the same as today's headlines," she said Friday in an interview with The Associated Press.

Rice said she believed the world was more dangerous before Bush took office in January 2001 than it is now.

"Six years ago ... it wasn't a very nice world. Al-Qaida was preparing to attack the twin towers, Pakistan was allied with the Taliban, Afghanistan was the base from where al-Qaida was going to operate, the Israelis and Palestinians had given up," she said.

"The Palestinians had walked away from a chance for a Palestinian state, launched the second intifada; (Israel) elected Ariel Sharon who basically said there will never be a Palestinian state and there will be a greater Israel; the North Koreans were cheating on a deal that they had just signed; China and others were indifferent; Iran was cheating on the IAEA out of sight and Saddam Hussein was shooting at our pilots in the no-fly zone and making a mockery of the oil-for-food program and corruption was running rampant in that program."

OK, Condi. In contrast, is it now a "nice" world? Yeah, al-Qaeda was preparing to attack, and you and your fuckwit boss were warned but didn't do a damn thing about it because worrying about those guys was a Clinton thing and you weren't going to do Clinton things (and I won't even go into LIHOP/MIHOP). Pakistan is STILL allied with the fucking Taliban, who have restored themselves because we dropped the ball in Afghanistan in order to attack Iraq -- and now BOTH Iraq and Afghanistan are the bases from where al-Qaeda can operate.

Condi, you're a fucking idiot.

26. I see that Amazon.com accidentally sent her a history book from that weird alternate universe
You know -- the one where the other-Bush governed with wisdom and compassion. The one who called Al Gore to explain global warming to him, then put Gore in charge of lessening America's oil dependency. The one who refused to divide the country with cheap partisan pandering, and put his own popularity on the line to come up with intelligent, visionary policies that included the best ideas from across the political spectrum. The one who came right back from vacation as soon as he saw that briefing about bin Laden planning attacks inside the US, and thwarted the plots. The one who refused to go after Iraq, but rode a global wave of popularity to bring the terrorists to trial under the international legal system. The one who saw Hurricane Katrina gaining strength in the Gulf of Mexico, loaded Air Force One with emergency supplies and personally flew to New Orleans in its hour of need, then used the plane to evacuate hospital patients to the already-upgraded Walter Reed. The one who spearheaded the generations-long strategy to deal with global warming and ultimately create a sustainable future for the world.

The one who -- well, I could go on, but everybody in that alternate universe, inside and outside of the other-America, can recite stories of how other-Bush, that gentle, modest man, inspired them personally, and how he ultimately became the most popular American president of the past hundred years, winning back-to-back Nobel prizes for Economics and Peace (and gracefully declining the nomination for Literature for his "little novels and those poems I just jotted down" because he felt "there are plenty of other writers around the world who deserve recognition").

31. Insightful words from Condoleeza "Mushroom Cloud" Rice.
I suspect that when George Bush leaves office most Americans will believe he was a poor President and yet when Americans look back, with the clearer view of history, they will see the miserably wretched Presidency of George Dubya Bush.

Nice shoes Condi!

33. History will throw Bewsh IN a well.
A noteworthy legacy needs to have acheivements, however well bullshitted, that are . . . you know . . . NOTEworthy. Just because you did it with Reagan don't-a mean you can do it with the Failure Fuhrer. I don't care IF history is written by the victors. People who lived the misery will destroy those notions in a quick second.

Bewsh has failed at every single thing he's enacted and proposed. We have a dry-drunk fascist ru(i)nning the world.
