Top 5 ISPs To Start Charging For Email. Evil bastards.
Under the cover of "guaranteed delivery" and "spam protection". Evil fucks.

"Five of the largest ISPs in the US are to start charging businesses for guaranteed delivery of their emails, in a bid to combat spam.

Goodmail Systems, which provides a service called CertifiedEmail, has signed up Comcast, Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable's Road Runner and Verizon as customers. Emails certified using the system are marked with a blue ribbon to show they come from a trusted source, thus bypassing spam filters - a privilege that will cost the sender a quarter of a US cent per email."

Let's wait for regular users to get charged for e-mails before freaking out. But I do understand future concerns.

4. It's just for businesses ... today
In other news, Bill Gates has been floating the suggestion to compel computer programmers to get licensed.

I guess that the plan to import 5 million foreign programmers under the H1B system wasn't working out as well as he had hoped.

5. So, there's a problem with eBay...
paying a wee bit to make sure they don't fall into the spam traps with the phishers spoofing their sites?

I'm not sure I have a problem with my bank, shopping sites, and others paying a bit for some assurance the emails I get aren't fraudulent. Helps the both of us.
