There seems to be a certain thought on another board that we are experiencing zero unemployment, even though the figures of 4.5 never change and companies are outsourcing and laying off as much as ever.

1. I get the idea that the country has lost its interest in the bullshit figures
that this bunch of lying crooks release because a month later they have to come back, very quiely, and change them.

4. Not true the 30% club continue to use that 4.5% unemployment figure in every
theres plenty of jobs out there no need for welfare posts. Maybe michigan has a 7.0% unemployment number but theres 49 other states the poor and unemployed can move to that has less then .1% unemployment. When you post back with each states unemployment rates, I did a quick search and have yet to see one state that didn't have under 5% unemployment rates, they continue to say I'm wrong because the states numbers didn't match the 4.5% at the national level.

6. I don't know what part on 'not true' what I said was. In fact, I don't even
understand what you posted.

Regardless, the unemployment rate is not 4.5%. There are thousands of Americans who aren't counted in those figures because their benefits have run out, or they're homeless, or whatever.

7. Thats what I was getting at. The 30% shrub supporters use that false number of 4.5%
on their attacks on welfare and the poor. Never mind that the number never really changes or the fact that all states show a higher unemployed rate then 4.5%. The 30% keep saying the grass is greener in every other state except for the one they live in. I've been dealing with such people who think the answer to the states unemployment problem is that people won't pack up and move to another state. It's the old Reagan lie, "go south young man and seek your fortune".

3. Anyone experiencing massive bank growth in their area..
Banks seem to be the only thing they are building lately. Two businesses, a tire store and a car wash place were torn down and bank built in their place. It would have cost quite a bit to buy those businesses out.

8. You bet! We're soon to be the financial hub of the county!
Three banks already, and a fourth one is almost finished construction -- I figure it'll open mid-to-late summer.

So that will make four banks. In a town with a population of about 1,800 (and dropping daily, as is the population of the county as a whole). God Only Knows what these people are thinking...

5. The zero unemployed folks are the ones who believe that an unemployment
...rate of 4.5% to 5.5% is actually employees in "transition" from one job to their next job and therefore regard that number as nor really unemployment. That of course is total bullshit. Nobody who works and has bills to pay and families to support ever wants to go for any period of time without a paycheck. The transitional figure would be less than 1.0% and more likely around 0.5%. Then you have discouraged workers who drop out of the job market, that is they are forced out by the unemployment office and no longer get counted in the employment statistics. BushCo has done an excellent job of hiding these numbers, so my guess would be this Bush economy has a real unemployment rate in the range of 8.0% to 10%, with an additional qualified legal American workforce of another 10.0% adults who want to work but feel they would not be able to if they actively went looking because the jobs are not where they are and the pay rates are well below what they would be willing to work for and what they are qualified for, plus these potential workers want to have jobs that are relatively long term to make it worth coming back into the work force.
