Sam Brownback better never meet me face to face

Brownback Questions Abortion For Rape Victims

Sen. Sam Brownback, campaigning for president Saturday before the National Catholic Men’s Conference, questioned whether rape victims should get abortions.

“Rape is terrible. Rape is awful. Is it made any better by killing an innocent child? Does it solve the problem for the woman that’s been raped?” the Kansas Republican asked at the St. Joseph’s Covenant Keepers gathering.

“We need to protect innocent life. Period,” Brownback said, bringing the crowd of about 500 to its feet.

Brownback also talked about keeping marriage between a man and a woman, saying nations that have allowed same-sex marriages were engaging in bad social experiments, with bad results.

He also encouraged married couples to stay together, saying studies have shown that if couples weather hard times for five years, their marriages tend to last. After five years, “people are happier than those who have had a divorce,” Brownback said.

Sam thinks of women as objects.

I think Sam is an ignorant, religiously insane misogynist.

12. She really isn't like that.
At least she never seemed to be that way. I am always surprised when I see those ads. She is a strong woman on her own and I never thought I would see her acting like that. I always liked her, go figure. I guess sometimes you do not know people as well as you thought you did.

and I just don't understand Mary doing that. I guess she has changed a lot or I never knew her very well.

It is a disgusting thing to watch, especially knowing that is the reason for it.

than to control their genitals.

brownback is the symptom -- it's the 500 people who stood and applauded him that you should be afraid of.

6. That was my first thought.
What about the over 650,000 Iraqi that have been killed in Iraq. Mostly all are innocent. They were killed because an inhumane monster, who never did one constructive thing in his life, had the authority to bomb and maim.

them un-innocent (or guilty?)

10. F'ing moran.
He'd better hope none of his female family members is raped. He'd change his tune right quick.

When my SIL was raped last summer, my pro-life in-laws immediately called up Hubby not just to tell us but also to ask him about the E.C. and whether she'd be okay and not get pregnant. They still stand by that decision.

include experiencing rape personally?

Yeah, I know it is. But such an ass. And another example of how fricking easy it is for men to safely opine on how awful abortion is, while tsk-tsking about rape as if it's equivalent to a bad cold. Easy from your perspective, asswhipe.

23. No kidding, I bet they would think that the rapist somehow owed that
to his victim - he tainted her for others after all. Their view of women is about that medieval.

20. Well, yeah, it does solve one of the problems from the rape.
What the hell kind of question is this: "Does it solve the problem for the woman that’s been raped?”

If the result of rape is a pregnancy, well, then, yes, an abortion DOES solve that problem.

21. I can see his point on the last one
Sometimes you see people go through a divorce that is so difficult, you wonder if they underlying problem was much worse, and couldn't have been worked through. Financially divorce is devastating for middle or lower class income people, too. If there are children, sometimes the uproar is probably worse too.

But not always.

As for the first two, he better not run into me either.

their personal stuff - this guy signals that he thinks the government should have to do with all that stuff. Suddenly the RW desire for little or small government shifts 180 degrees when they are on personal subjects.

29. yeah. And I'm a little sickened by the Democrats current penchant to to do the same.
I mean, I understand why they feel the need, but when, oh when, will voters rise above this crap? We're fighting over marriage and evolution and sending our $$$ and young people off to war while everything else in our country slowly deteriorates.

30. these people want to live pre-1960s
They love the idea of the woman being totally submissive to men in all things , who is told what to do and think by her husband. They believe that the pain of childbirth is punishment for "origional sin",
and have always believed that a woman who is raped ( by a stranger , or a husband) has asked for it in some way.

They long for a world that never really existed , where women were content to be second (or third) class citizens

guy like this..

Sam Brownback is perhaps fit to carry a driver's license, library card, & perhaps a credit card, but THAT'S the extent of his privileges...I mean, one criteria for the U.S. Senate should be that your views can't be from the 3rd. century.....

Sam Brownback is not fit to be in politics on any level...
