For those who listen to Malloy last friday ?
What did you think about our experiment in democracy being dead and how Reid and pelosi really can't impeach because our system does not work as it did before ?

I tend to agree with Mikes observations .

2. I didn't hear Malloy, but I believe he may be correct, unfortunately
I think whatever democracy we may have had in this country became a subsidiary of the corporatocracy long ago.

3. I think Malloy held out hope longer than was warranted.
I have believed that the current incarnation of this nation is unsalvageable sice the aftermath of 9-11, and still believe it today.

It's only a matter of time.

I only vote democrat to hopefully spare people as much pain as possible, but I have long since given up on the democratic party as a vehicle for meaningful progress - IE protections for American workers, universal single payer health care, protecting consumers and workers from predatory corporations, etc.

It has been decades since we took a genuine step forward in this country, just further and further back.

To those who talk about "pendulums", look around you, we have done nothing but slide right, right and more right for nigh on 30 years. There is no pendulum. Political change doesn't just happen by some sort of magical rhythm. People have to get out, en masse and raise hell, or otherwise the people with all the money will continue to call all the shots. End of story.
