Message to the DU mods: I was framed by Ron Paul!!
Friday I posted a thread on the fact the MSNBC was interviewing some colonel talking about Gen Pace being replaced and the guy was interrupted by the anchor to show a liveshot of Paris Hilton leaving her house. I posted a link to this video along with some pertinent quotes from the movie Network, in particular from Peter Finch as the Howard Beale character in which he blasts television news. Such as 'Television is not the truth. Television is a goddamned amusement park.'

I went to Yahoo, typed in 'network beale' went to IMAGES and saw a shot of Howard Beale up against a stained glass window, included that image link from this site:

http://forums.newspeakdictionary.com/viewtopic.php?t=966

then posted the thread.

(The pic looks like this which I found at another site)

A while later I get replies asking me why I support Ron Paul in my sig line....

HUH!? WHAT!?

I go back and look at the thread and can't figure out what's wrong. Howard Beale supports Ron Paul?? What's everyone talking about?

I go back a little while later and see RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT 2008 splattered all over my post where Howard Beale should be! Then the post gets removed and later I get a warning message from the mods about posting etiquette!

***** I'VE BEEN FRAMED!!!!! ***** :grr: :grr::grr::grr::grr:

For the record, I DO NOT SUPPORT RON PAUL OR ANY OTHER REPUBLICAN FOR THAT MATTER!

You mods must be aware that sometimes pics that you try to link to your thread sometimes do not post correctly. You see the pic when you PREVIEW your message, but when you post you may have the pic replaced with an 'Illegal Link' or 'Do not link to this site' box. Or a Ron Paul logo.

I don't know if there is a way for DU to filter links so you can post what you see, but I would like to remind the mods that sometimes loyal DU'ers do get scammed once in a while. x(

1. An easy way to avoid that situation in the future is to..
save the picture to your harddrive and upload it to a site like tinypic or supload. :)

4. LOL
You little bandwidth thief you!! :P

When I first started posted here I had several of my posts removed by the mods - finally one of them told me it was because the original website complained about DU stealing bandwidth and someone told me to go get a free account at a pic hosting site like Photobucket.

I hope that you weren't trying to e-mail a picture to your Mom, and got Tub Girl instead.

8. Well don't steal somebody's bandwidth next time...
...and you won't get weird images popping up when you expect something else.

9. I used to do similar things to people who were snagging my bandwidth
I would see how they used it and I would change the picture to something decidedly "different".
