27. Really? I missed that part of the news, apparently. |
|
Tell me why. I'd like to know, since the Republicans seem to be worshipping at the altar of Reagan during debates.

Coming out with gems like "Getting shot hurts" or claiming that the Israelis bombing Saddam's nuclear reactor was a "Sign that Armageddon is near"

34. Sounds just like the "Gipper". I was never impressed with him. |
|
I still don't think he's that much of a "communicator" as he's been called.

36. A few "great communicator" quotes: |
|
"Ketchup is a vegetable" (to justify eliminating vegetables from public school lunches)
"Trees are the biggest pollutors" (or something like that, to justify some anti-environment thing or the other)
Back when he was in office I had a book of mind-numbingly stupid Reagan quotes - these are the two that I still recall.
Just like the reich-wing press to call that idiot something equally idioitic - "great communicator" my ass! Yeah, and ignorance is bliss.

Although he did an incredible smackdown of Jerry Falwell on Anderson Cooper 360, and on H&C. Quite a surprise.

Edited on Sun Jun-10-07 08:22 PM by thunder rising
When I bought my copy 2 weeks ago at a big chain bookstore. The two books were on each side of a pomotion that was place directly in the front of the store entry. Reagan's side had a couple missing and I got one of the few left on Gore's side. I made a mental note. North Palm Beach county wanted Gore on their shelves (these were hard copy).

private citizen. None of the political campaign rules apply, and he is winning hearts and minds by the millions! Whether or not he runs for president, he is doing a GREAT THING in raising awareness of this nation's problems.
Give this man a medal.

oh sure... it sold well to a few million..science-guys... but the commanderguy and the decidedguy don't like books with that many words... next time MORE PICTURES, possibly some coloring activities, and W loves those pull-out pop-up things (oops.. that has nothing to do with books)

One can only assume that means *all* books. (?--yep, apparently so. The bestseller list the #7 links to has all kinds of books.)

and get it. It is so eloquent and elegant. Time and again Gore presents the truth without an attempt at persuasion; the facts speak for themselves in the world of Al Gore.
