That's one person's opinion; sounds logical to me. What say we get the hell out of there?

Ever since the beginning of the Iraq invasion I wondered why the Iraqi forces did not blow up their bridges. Any sane person in the leadership of a country being invaded by fast moving super power troops, should have done everything to make it difficult for the invaders to come to the capitol of the country. But Saddam and his Army did not do anything to stop the Americans. Now the Iraqi resistance is doing what Saddam should have done long time ago. These bridges are extremely important for the Americans to supply material, food, ammunition and most importantly clean water to their troops. The Iraqi know this and now they are focusing on cutting of the supply chain of the American military forcing them to rely more on air traffic.

What is their next move? Are they going to actively attack supply planes coming into Iraq?

I think what we are seeing is the beginning to the end of US invasion in Iraq. Americans have lost this war, and if they do not understand this and try to do the best of it, they are up for a big surprise that will be very deadly and painful for them.

3. And we still haven't heard the casuality toll from the bridge collapse...
they're just saying several US troops trapped.

Stop the madness! And then put the war criminals who started it on trial!

5. those that survived until now
are now realizing that killing Americans is not the way to actually win the war. At least not yet.

In my opinion (for what it's worth) consider the zeal of those fighting the new crusaders. Suicide bombs, screaming and running at the enemy. "Kill the infidel". After a while, it begins to sink in (like in Vietnam) shoot the helicopters and planes, blow bridges and roads. They are learning how to wage war, it's not about killing...at least not yet.

It was evident that Saddam had no weapons for offense. Otherwise he would have never let the Americans deploy. Bomb the ports, keep the Americans on the ships. Make them come like D-Day. But this seemed to slip past the observant press and even the infinitely wise generals who were ready to kill anything. No weapons and no coaching.

What's happening today, is the resistance to an occupation. And they are finally learning what it takes to drive the infidels out.

It's not emotion ... it's business ... it's war.

7. interesting ....
the summer sand storms will make it impossible to travel around destroyed bridges. the sand storms are more deadly because if they have to increase the flights during the summer the results will be increased delays and fewer aircraft because of more hours spent on maintenance of aircraft.
by september the troops will start coming home...
