How do you think the Gonzo no-confidence debate/vote will go? |
|
This is the week for it. Will republics try to stall/delay or otherwise squash the debate before it comes to a vote?
Should a WHAAAAmbulance be on hand for the "we don't have the votes" excuse-makers?
Will the main talking point on Faux-spews and by Snowjob be "doesn't matter what Congress does, Gonzales serves at the pleasure of the pResident and the pResident has made it clear he stands behind Gonzales" -- in other words "to the Senate: go F* yourself"
How many and which Senators will characterize this as a 'stunt'?
Should the no-confidence vote pass - will Congress have the spine and balls to go to the next step and impeach Gonzo?

3. It better be a near total vote for 'no confidence'. It's clear that |
|
anyone voting against it is not an honest person......does NOT support the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Gonzales must be impeached and removed from office. He should face charges for his illegal actions and his role in advising completely against all that America has previously stood for.

4. I think it's a futile gesture; why didn't they start with impeachment to |
|
begin with? Gonzo is clearly deserving.

I agree...if anyone is a perfect example for impeachment its Gonzo. Not only is there overwhelming proof he's lied to Congress, but his inability to get on top of this mess...this USA fiasco has been dragging on now for nearly 6 months. If this ass in a hat can't get to the bottom of this mess, then someone else who can must be put in there...and NOW!
Sadly, I still don't think the votes are there. It's hard to imagine there aren't 17 Repugnicans who will put the rule of law ahead of their own political interests...but this is a classic example of why more impeachments would prove to be frustrating. I'd prefer to continue gathering the evidence and get these bastards into the very courts they're attempting to destroy. Methinks there's a bunch of prosecutors out there who are dying for a shot at Gonzo, Sampson, Rove and all the other crooks.
Cheers...

13. I know you're right, but in this case, more than enough evidence |
|
has been gathered-there has got to be a way to get rid of this lying sycophant with or without the rethugs' 'blessing'. And yes, 'frustrating' is the word of the day/week/year.

14. 67 Votes Gets Him Gone... |
|
Honestly, I'm impatient. This shit has gone on for far too long and very little has really come of it. We're still waiting for subpoenas to be issued and then they'll be ignored...we all know that...it'll end up in the courts...so what are Leahy and Conyers waiting for? It's gonna end up in the courts eventually...let's get movin'!!!!
Unfortunately, without the votes to convict (67) or even 60 to avoid closure on the measure, a "Democratic" majority means nothing. When the shoe was on the other foot...the Clinton inquisition...the Senate was the body of reason...that there were enough "decent" Repugnicans to avoid conviction, but inversely, now these are the same people who are afraid to pull the trigger again.
The political price still isn't steep enough for enough Repugnicans. They keep Gonzo at their peril as I'll gladly use him as a poster boy for GOOP corruption next year...and why this corrupt party should be banished from any chance to keep screwing things up. Make it motivation to win another 5 or 10 Senate Seats and another 30 to 40 House seats. Revenge is always best served cold!!!
Cheers...

15. I am beginning to think that there aren't 17 Repugs that aren't |
|
wholly compromised by illegal (and documented) influence peddling +/or personal peccadilloes caught on NSA equipment and kept in Rove's drawers.

5. The repukes won't allow cloture |
|
So there won't be a vote on no confidence, just on cloture to take a vote. I'm sure that Rove and Cheney have been burnng the phone lines this weekend.

6. 51 Against 48 for no-Confidence |
|
LIEberman, Salazar and one Nelson will jump ship, while Hagel will vote no confidence in him.
There may be a few abstentions, like the forked-tongue express.
People like spectre will run their mouths about how this can't go on and he won't stand for it. Then he'll claim after consulting with the white house he has assurances that things will change.

7. Of course Republicans will try to |
|
delay or squash it.
And if they call it a stunt, they'll be largely correct. Such a vote has no real meaning, no effect.
As posted above, impeaching Gonzales would be a far more meaningful gesture.

11. Every GOOPer Who Votes For, Votes To Abet Law Breaking |
|
It's time to frame this puppy where it belongs...Gonzalez has proven not only inept but also someone who obviously put politics and his own intersts ahead of being a "champion of justice". Those who vote for him should be taken to task in their home press, on the radio and in every public appearance as to their support for this crook and his highly unpopular boss.
Any Senator...Democratic (and I would hope that equals 0) or Repugnik who tries to punt...by voting "present" or attempting to spin the issue (like Kyl's "I'm not voting for Gonzo, I'm voting against the vote) should also be called out for their complicity in the ongoing destruction of habeus corpus and the justice system.
No more mincing words...these crooks are liars and traitors...proven time and time again.

18. Pretty much along Party lines |
|
 Republicans do not care about what's good for America only about loyalty to the Republican Party. They have proved that beyond any shadow of doubt by excusing the outing of a Covert CIA Agent and by excusing the Lying to Prosecutors by Libby as not meaning anything. Clinton lying to prosecutors meant a hell of a lot although there was no underlieing crime. Remember it isn't about sex it is about Lying...
