I think I'm going to take my kids to the new Genesis Creation Museum.
So that they can make up their minds for themselves. I don't think it will be toooo tough.

BTW: Here's a great blog post and pictures from a guy who visited.

BTW2: Who would have thought that the first man looked like Jim Morrison?

2. Talk to a few Fundies
A whole lot of them (but sadly, not all) are mortified that their faith is being turned into a carny-geek sideshow. The message of the Gospel is supposed to be about universal redemption, not theocratic rule by a violent and happily ignorant elite.

The grass roots are not happy. This is a perfect time for Democratic outreach.

They like to say that God works in mysterious ways. I'm not a believer, myself, but there may be some truth to that old saw.

21. BBC World News did a story and interview on The Creation Museum
...this morning. Dr. White was promoting creationism and that "the answers are all in Genesis," and a scientist bemoaned the fact that the US appears to have a growing tolerance of this idea that humans and dinosaurs co-existed. The scientist simply stated that creationism is a religious belief and has no place in science classes. The reporter kept repeating the phrase about belief that "fully clothed children played with dinosaurs."

22. This museum is obviously a place for the simple-minded.
It's somewhere the ignorant can go to reinforce their ignorance and instill it into their children at the same time.

Don't think. Don't doubt. Don't examine evidence. Just believe. In other words, don't use the facility that makes humans different from animals. Do these fools think our inquiring minds come from Satan?

24. you are missing the possibilities here
for some it certainly is about ignorance and willfull suspension of facts...but for those willing to look past the sad people that will flock to this place, there is so much more...think "world' largest frying pan" and "world's largest ball of twine". You could just have so much fun with this.

25. Maybe we should fund a STRING of BS "Museums..."
Edited on Mon Jun-11-07 08:34 AM by Tyler Durden
Like maybe one glorifying the KKK, right next to the "PASI museum (Positive Aspects of the Spanish Inquistion)" with its always popular "Implements of Torture" annex, then the "Glory of the Confederacy" memorial(hold the flames, this whole thing is sarcasm anyway), or the "Crusades 'r' US" mobile exhibit, then top it off with the "Nazis are PEOPLE TOO!" revue featuring the "Holocaust...WHAT Holocaust?" stage spectacular.............

Branson sounds like a good location.

Sorry to be so caustic, but I've come to the decision that we should no longer view this shit as "Quaint" or "Amusing." The way this stuff starts being off the list of legitimate topics is by loudly screaming "TRIPE!" when tripe is served.

26. caustic response understood
and no big deal. The thing is, these people (provided the US comes back to its senses) are really fairly harmless. Please catch the 'back to its senses' phrase. These people remind me of the flat-earthers and the moon-shot-didn't-happen conspiracy types...laughable. And as a Christian, I think these sorts of beliefs SHOULD be put on stage and held up under some really bright lights so people can see just how ridiculous and out of step with acknowledged science.
