1. Way too much politics and too little substance
But they have only had 5 months. Let's See what they do now.

3. "Somewhat satisfied". They need more time.
And a lot more democrats in Congress would be nice, too! I think they are doing OK, especially in the House. The Senate is just too close to accomplish much right now.

5. note that Pelosi's vaunted 100 hrs legislation has ALL died on the vine....
Edited on Mon Jun-11-07 10:22 AM by mike_c
The democratic house spent it's first weeks passing show legislation that promptly went nowhere. They could have spent that time doing something substantive instead, like working to stop the war against Iraq. That 100 hrs is a metaphor for the dem leadership IMO-- utterly concerned with appearances, and afraid to confront the most important issues facing the nation.

4. Very Dissatisfied. They were elected to bring home a simple message. They are playing
the politics of weakness and reelection above all else. They caved. They may be Dem Leadership, but they are politicians first and foremost, meaning ineffective and self serving by definition.

8. Gotta agree with my cross-state neighbor here.
Here in the red red corner of NC I wanted the leadership to save my country, NOT to be politicians.

6. Disgusted with the "Pie in the Sky When You Die" congress.
They seem to have an bottomless supply of excuses and promises of "tomorrow" while they continue to make deals with the Blue Poodles and Republicans.

7. The ethics legislation and oversight have been a refreshing
change. Sure, I want them to do more on the war and I want war crime charges against the bush junta, but that is not within their job description.

9. How can they get bills passed bush vetos.
If someone could come up with that solution, the democrats would be flying.

11. Extremely, extremely satisfied with the new Congress difference.
Not to say things cannot be better, but that is not how I measure satisfaction. This has been a major turning point.
