Didn't Specter say that Gonzo should resign before
this vote of no confidence? Will Rethugs really vote for Bush over the law today? MSM is already trying to spin this as politics when what fugging took place was the politicizing of justice.

Where are all the lawyers and judges on this one? Where are all the law students. The rule of law is being violated by the Department of Justice? Is this business as usual. Do Rethugs really believe Gonzo can't recall?

I can't wait for this vote.
----------------------------

May 20 — Senator Arlen Specter, the senior Republican on the Judiciary Committee, said today that Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales might resign before the Senate registers a vote of no confidence in him.

Senate Democrats have said they would bring a no-confidence resolution to the floor as soon as this week because of continuing questions about Mr. Gonzales’s role in the dismissals of eight federal prosecutors last year and strong doubts about his leadership of the Justice Department.

On “Face the Nation” on CBS, Mr. Specter noted that no-confidence votes in the Senate were rare, adding, “I have a sense that before the vote is taken, that Attorney General Gonzales may step down.”

4. I believe, in the end, bu$h will have his way with the Repulicons in Congress
They will side with bu$h yet still again. I am sure as I write this Karl rrr-Rove is making his way to Capitol Hill to do some persuasion so to speak and by the time this hits a vote it will be split down party lines.
Then they will spin it in their media machines that the Democrats are attacking poor little Gonzo and his bu$h

9. couple of things the republics running for re(s)election need to think about
if they vote in favor of Gonzo (i.e. bush), it ties them to bush in '08, and given the public mood towards bush - do they really want to be tied to bush? Do they want to go into the '08 races characterized as a rubber-stamping bush-butt kisser?

How confident are they that there isn't anything more or worse in Gonzo's closet that hasn't emerged? Do they really want to take that chance?

10. I want to see Specter's vote?
Why I don't know because he's a well known hypocrite.

Can we hope for Gonzo to step before the vote?

14. Gatekeeper
Gonzo won't step down. He is Bush's gatekeeper. If he steps down there will be no one to impede this investigation.
