Bush could care less what the Senate thinks of Gonzo. No way is he going to send anyone up to Capitol Hill to be confirmed for the AG position, as long as Gonzo is alive and breathing.

This is really a vote on Republicans and should be framed that way.

Will Repubs continue to support a President who has lost all public confidence?

2. My guess is, "Nothing";
I mean, unless the Democrats against all evidence of the past 30 years or so grow a pair and pursue impeachment.

3. My guess would be to file a bill of immpeachment against him.
During the impeachment hearings, I believe there would be sufficient criminal activity discovered that he would either be found guilty and thrown out OR he would quit as soon as he saw impeachment was inevitable.

4. Unless Cheney, Gonzo, and Rove become deathly ill or die, they won't leave office....
Cheney would have already stepped down 'because of health problems' if he were going to take that route.

Gonzo will stay on because the alternative is worse for Bush --a confirmation fight on Capitol Hill to replace him.

Rove will never leave unless he is indicted.

Afraid we are stuck with these characters until the end of Bush's term.

6. I see it as a process. This is one step. A good step.
Assess the mood of the Senate. Put it in the public view. Keep the investigation going. Move toward impeachment.

I wouldn't expect impeach without a vote like this first. A warning shot for the admin.

It's a good thing. I don't understand the negative tone of some posters toward this vote.

7. Thank you for your post.
Keeping all their crap in the public view is a good idea.

Getting the corporate media to report it fully and honestly is the hard part.
