Huckabee: ‘Most’ Prisoners In The U.S. ‘Would Love’ To Be In Guantanamo

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell condemned the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay yesterday, calling it “a major problem for America’s perception” and charging, “if it was up to me, I would close Guantanamo — not tomorrow, this afternoon.”

Later, on CNN’s Late Edition, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) expressed his disagreement with Powell about closing Guantanamo, saying “most of our prisoners would love to be in a facility more like Guantanamo and less like the state prisons that people are in in the United States.”

Pressed by host Wolf Blitzer to address the fact that “detainees are being held, by and large, without charges, without any evidence,” which is “causing a smear on the U.S. reputation,” Huckabee said it didn’t matter because hypothetically, “if we let somebody out” they could “come and fly an airliner into one of our skyscrapers.”

What haunts my soul are the numbers of detainees just let out the back door when no one is looking because they are INNOCENT. It's usually a very quite affair, hardly any mention in the news, they just send them back to their countries. After five years of sitting in a dog kennel, waiting for the next 'interrogation'. How much high value information could any of them have after even the first year? They try to make them out to be such monsters, the worst of the worst. Most of them were sold for bounties. SOLD. They were Bought! So we could have someone to blame for MITHOP. Some one to PUNISH because Bush ignored the reports that Planes could be flown into buildings as a tactic. They f-ing KNEW. One interview I read described the prisoners making poetry that they would repeat to each other. One didn't translate to English that well, but it was "the rice has no oil or salt. How is that for the "fine" cuisine? Fuck them. Fuck Huckabee. He should don the Orange suit with a hood and go in for some interrogation training for the un-cooperative. I always recommend Goggling up..Soldier Beaten at Guantanamo Bay. If anyone can fix a link in a down thread you can get some idea of the treatment. I wonder how many detainees have been murdered or permanently maimed...like the Soldier?
