WaPo/Reuters: Paris Hilton says God has given her a new chance

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Imprisoned hotel heiress Paris Hilton has said she believes God has given her a new chance and she plans to stop acting dumb and put her influence to good use.

Hilton called television journalist Barbara Walters on Sunday from the medical wing of a Los Angeles jail, where she is being held for violating probation in a drunken-driving case, and Walters recounted the conversation on her ABC television show "The View" on Monday.

"I'm not the same person I was," Hilton told Walters. "I used to act dumb. It was an act. I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer cute. It is not who I am, nor do I want to be that person for the young girls who looked up to me.

"I know now that I can make a difference, that I have the power to do that. I have been thinking that I want to do different things when I am out of here. I have become much more spiritual. God has given me this new chance."

I should have predicted this. And whether it's from her for real, and it may well be, or her publicist, it's still a good thing. Someone is going to be HELPED from here on out, maybe kids, or Paris herself. Hopefully she won't go around hugging dead puppies after this, but instead opens up a care center for SOMEONE.

I was blessed enough to had to have spent a whole 21 days in an Alabama GrayBar Hotel a few years back, and after laying on a concrete floor for days was in the mood to go crazy. Instead, luckily for me I found a half of a book titled, "We're All Doing Time".

It was literally a Godsend, created by a fellow named Bo Lazoff, a man who in the 70's marched into the Penal system and tried to install ASHRAMS, to get prisoners to meditate, do yoga, CHANGE their lives. Might sound like Bullshit to some, but it's PURE GENIUS.

I was able to get my shit together, and it was so puzzling to the guards and the owners of the establishment that they would come in the cell, or walk by and literally say, "What the hell are YOU doing in here?" That's how obvious the change was.

And you WILL get GOD in jail.

And there's nothing that can come from "The Human Kindness Foundation" that's going to hurt you.

I wish Bo Lozoff would GO to Paris and help her spread the word of these philosophies. It's saved Thousands of lives, more than we'll ever know.

One thing I realized in those harsh conditions, when I was close to losing it, was a simple thing, "As long as someone loves you, no matter where you are, you are NOT Alone."

Worked for me, even if you need it to be the invisible man who lives in the clouds :)
