4. I'd put War with Iran first myself. With all that's going on, he still favors military options
In Iran.

Blindly supporting right wing Israeli policy masked as supporting Israel (when that policy seems destructive).

Republican candidates for the Presidency.

19. How then did the Dept. of Homeland Security omit worker protections?
seems a big oversight for a friend of labor.

28. Why doesn't it deserve an answer Gman?
Lieberman was intimately involved in that bill and its progress in the Senate.

I am sure you will cite that a Presidential veto was threatened, but since it will never happened who knows how close the vote would have been.

29. Because Lieberman's career in Congress didn't just begin when he
became chair of Homeland Security. Lieberman has a long solid record of supporting issues that are important to working people that goes back many years. I can't think of any social issue that Lieberman is not right on.

So to confine your comments to what Lieberman's done in the last 5 months compared to his many years in Congress seems ridiculous.

33. Friend of labor? Oh puhleeze!
Lieberman has supported practically every "free-trade" agreement put before him and was a champion of fast-track trade authority for his kissy buddy George.

Lieberman's support of school vouchers drove the Connecticut AFT and Connecticut Education Association to back Lamont in the general election.

Although the AFL-CIO leadership backed Lieberman, AFSCME, SEIU and the UAW all supported Lamont.

The International Association of Machinists also backed Lamont because of the damage that Lieberman's "No Free Trade Agreement Left Behind" policy was doing to jobs at home.

That "giant sucking sound" is Lieberman wheezing.

9. A Strike against Iran--ie. -- Bomb a military camp inside Iran.
Tonight on Scarborough--a guy, lasr name Evans
was screaming literally we have a window
this year in which to take care of Iran.
He was advocating shutting down the St.of Hormuze.
(Cut off Iran's abiltity to get Gasoline and
bring them to their Knees. Sancion them to
starvation, I guess. He hs written a book
describing Iran as a dangerous foe. We cannot
wait. 2008 will be too late.

Fox using the Lieberman line, managed to roll
out a story on why Lieberman is right.

If Lieberman starts a war with Iran--it is not
the Republican's fault?????

We need to focus on what will fix the real problem, not on this problem over on the sideline.

Let's not poke the bear. We may need his vote on impeachment.

35. Oh yeah. Blacklists

The American Council of Trustees and Alumni was founded in 1995 by Lynne Cheney, the vice president's wife, and Sen. Joseph Lieberman. Its Website claims that it contributed $3.4 billion to colleges and universities last year, making it "the largest private source of support for higher education." Cheney is cited several times in the report, and is reportedly a close associate of its authors, Jerry Martin and Anne Neal.

Although the council's stated objectives include the protection of academic freedom, the report resembles a blacklist. In a chilling use of doublespeak, it affirms the right of professors to speak out, yet condemns those who have attempted to give context to Sept. 11, encourage critical thinking, or share knowledge about other cultures. Faculty are accused of being "short on patriotism" for attempting to give students the analytical tools they need to become informed citizens.

40. Boy that's the truth;
also rather neatly illustrates how Liebertoad is much more about loyalty to the Dear Leader than to his then-fellow party members (I mean, now that his party is the Joe Party, he doesn't have to worry about that. But I'm interested to know when he has EVER criticized Bush).

41. Supported the bankruptcy bill, iirc,
that did nothing to curb predatory lending, but set some pretty draconian measures out without any provisions or protections for those who fall into backruptcy due to medial emergency or natural disaster.

Sadly so did many democrats. (Granted he was still a democrat at the time of the vote.)
