Edited on Tue Jun-12-07 02:14 AM by RiverStone
We won't end the war funding, can't break through the neo-cons on immigration, and could not even knock lying Gonzo off The Hill yesterday.

Are you not mad as hell? Just like Peter Finch in Network....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dib2-HBsF08&mode=related&search=

There must be some DEM on the national stage willing to lay it ALL on the line and call the corrupt BushCo regime into the open for all the secrecy, lies, and total abuse of power. Get mad - make a fucking spectacle out of yourself! I'd dig that; I'd follow that! I'm telling ya, if someone even went crazy-mad like in Network - they would receive unprecedented support!

We The People keep taking it and are MAD AS HELL!

Which DEM can represent our anger and actually DO SOMETHING constructive with it???

Show me!

1. Al Gore.
I'm reading The Assault on Reason right now, and he's definitely NOT a happy camper about what is going on in this country, and what we are doing overseas.

He doesn't do it in a Peter Finch way, but I think he's sending out the same message.

4. I finished that book last week
It was a fascinating read. He give a lot of history and build up to the problem and spells out the current problem pretty well but I personally believe that he emphasizes the imminent danger we are in. I didn't really get the feeling of hope from his words but more of a call to arms. If we don't rip * from office then we have failed America! I don't think its that bad (granted it's pretty freak'n bad) and I see a lot of hope for when a solid Democrat takes command of the sword.

9. Then who is to take up the sword other than Al himself?
Edited on Tue Jun-12-07 09:16 AM by RiverStone
I definitely plan to read the book this summer (I work in education - currently swamped). Kiouni I have a question: Other then Al himself, does he offer any other DEMS an invitation to take command of the sword by name specifically?

I really like Dennis K's anti-war position, though he has way to little mainstream support to mount a serious challenge as Pres. I really like Russ F, but he is not running. John K - been there, done that. I see Hillary C. as in bed with the MSM and corporate allies - she does not represent my progressive views. My first choice is Barack currently, yet wish he had more experience.

In other words, the best person to take up the sword is without question and unequivocally AL himself!

After writing such a wonderful book, why can't the epilogue to his book be - I'm running?!

17. I agree no one is as suited for the task as Al.
He does have quite a bit of respect for Bill but I don't know how much of that respect is transfered to Hilldog. He doesn't name anyone specifically as an endorsement but he does universally denounce both parties for their failures to uphold the constitution and fight for what is right. I read Obama's "the Audacity of Hope," and I see the same strength as I see in Al. And I may take some heat for this but I think Obama's a better speaker.

At this point, for both Mr and Ms Decruiter, well we go with Kucinicih and Ron Paul. Go figure.

6. Actually, what we like more are other positions.
Kucinich and a Department of Peace, cutting the defense budget. Paul, well he is just off the wall. He talks about ending the FED RESERVE! Horrors. Yes we are tin foil hatters. Bless you.

16. I think it's pretty remarkable (and suspicious) that I, as an independent who voted ...
... for Nixon (1st term) and Reagan (1st term) can express nearly unhesitating support for Kucinich above the other Democratic candidates and find people who proclaim themselves "Democrats" who demean and deride Kucinich as 'unelectable.'

I wonder what that says about the 'interests' taking control of partisan political processes in the Democratic Party. After all, if I can acknowledge having voted for Republicans (including two of the worst) in the past, then how can someone who takes some strange kind of pride in being a 'Democrat' justify their derision of Kusinich and his announced values???

To me, that very fact seems to add some validity to Nader's Coke/Pepsi claims.

15. You know what. I'm pretty happy with how things are going.
We managed to get minimum wage hikes into law. We got the provision in the Patriot Act allowing them to pack the federal courts yanked. Gonzo is now nuclear waste and will be impossible to use as a White House stooge. We managed to run off Rummy, Cheney has pretty much finally shut the fuck up, and Bush has nothing better to do than lose his watch. Quite frankly, 2 years of "do nothing" because we can't get 60 votes in the Senate is an incredible improvement over the shit they were doing the previous 6 years.

18. Gore, Edwards (unless I'm convinced he is supported by
Neo-Con Pro-Israeli interests), Kucinich or Jon Paul the independent liberterian from Texas. And I am really serious. No more support for insanity.

I AM MAD AS HELL AND I WISH AMERICA WAS AWAKE ENOUGH TO BE MAD AS HELL, BUT THE M$M KEEPS THEM IN THE DARK AND FEEDS THEM BS OR NADA!
