ROFL - Chimpy's $50 Timex stolen in Albania
as Jon Stewert commented last night: "In Albania people can rub his head. Here, we can't even ask him questions"

http://www.irintech.com/x1/blogarchive.php?id=1184

The crowd in Albania loved President Bush. But look closely at the video -- what happened to his wristwatch? You can see it on his left arm seconds before he begins to shake hands. Seconds later it is gone. The White House is denying a robbery, saying the President took the watch off himself. But some reports say he didn't notice that the watch was missing until after he returned to his vehicle. Mr. Bush normally wears a $50 Timex.

3. They forgot to mention the Micky Mouse face
on the watch...The only way shrub can tell time is if Mickey's hands are pointing to the numbers...

19. That was my first reaction too. I found where it was sold but
they're sold out. :( They DO however have some really cute cat stuff and other watches. :D

(An old trick I learned years ago was if I like something I'd peek at the properties of a picture, by right clicking, to see where it came from.:))

7. I can see the plot now.
"Okay, all of you begin chanting 'Bushie,' and while he's distracted, I'll pinch his valuables."

Wonder if he is missing anything else.

8. I don't think it was stolen ...
If you watch him around the time it goes missing, he looks to the ground several time as if he dropped something. I think it fell off and he noticed it, but the crowd action kept him from retrieving it.

Cheers
Drifter

21. Yes. Somebody ried to steal it
and it either fell to the ground, or someone threw another one to the ground in its place.
It's pretty intense action right when he moves from the left to the right of the screen at the beginning of the tape.

10. HAHAHAHA!
I could almost like the guy for wearing a cheap watch.

I know I always wore cheap ones when I was a nurse because there were times I'd have to take it off to scrub in or suit up and I was always losing them. It just didn't pay to have anything really decent. It was a TOOL.

I love that he got ripped off. I love that the thief got bupkus. I love that only new money seems to buy Rolexes.

This is a feel good story for me in a lot of ways.

25. it's one of the few things I like about him
Apparently he was a bit of a slob (at least until his dad's handlers got hold of him). He dressed sloppily, and would even ask friends if he could have the pants or shirts they were throwing out, even though he could easily have bought a flashy new wardrobe. Personally I think it was his cocky arrogant attitude that kept him from getting repeat dates (surely there can't be that many women around who expected him to flaunt the family wealth?) -- as this article describes.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/campaigns/wh2000/stories/bush072999.htm

"Bush hadn't been ready to settle down – but neither was he considered any kind of ladies' man. In fact, his friends saw him as a bit of a reclamation case, a tad eccentric and a slob. The wives of his friends took pity on him and did his laundry.

"I didn't think he was really shopping around," said Joe O'Neill. "He was at the age where it was getting awkward to be a bachelor, but I don't think he thought about it." Bush, he recalled with a laugh, "wasn't exactly presidential timber yet. It took some coaching for us to get the girls to go out with him.""

20. Is there anywhere or anyway that he DOESN'T get played?
Not that anyone inside the US would know but W has been completely PLAYED by everyone in every single situation since he has been in office.

He apologized to the Chinese for their downing of OUR plane
OBL played him right into IRaq
alSadr and Sistani have played him everywhich way you can imagine
Chalabi too
I could go on but he has to be the most non-streetwise (aware) person I have ever seen let alone one in that position of power.

24. I watched it several times....
the watch is there, his wrist was covered by hands, then the watch is gone.

Unless Chimpy is a magician, he didn't take it off himself.

29. How incredibly comforting
He is as careful with his watch as he is with the
American budget as well as our foreign policy.

In other words, he can't keep track of any of them.
