Could anyone imagine a DU reunion/convention party?
Where would it be held?
How big would the meeting place would be?
How many would attend?
What would we do?
I'm dreaming today, but I smile when I think about

2. My dear AlinPA!
I have indeed dreamed of such a thing!

It would most likely be in a major city, probably in the summer!

Who knows how many would/could attend!

But I'm thinking it would be huge.....

I would be there, barring serious illness!

What would we do?

Eat, drink, sing, laugh, talk, talk talk!

The meeting place would need to be pretty big.....think major hotel ballroom!

16. Either one...
But the city would pretty much need to be blue!

I like Chicago, myself!

7. Whe the first YearlyKos took place last summer,
I wrote Skinner and suggested a DU convention. I never heard back from him. I think it would be a great idea. In the meantime, I hope a lot of DUers will be at YearlyKos this year. Since it's in Chicago, it's fairly central. I'll be there and I know of at least a few other DUers who will be as well. Barring our own convention, we can tag onto this one.

11. Dear God. I can only imagine:
Edited on Tue Jun-12-07 02:56 PM by Buzz Clik
The environmentalists would come wandering in barefooted wearing only animal skins. The PETA crowd would immediately throw paint all over them.

The socialists would be gathered in the corner wearing images of Hugo Chavez on t-shirts and looking for rich people to yell at.

The DU admins would be gathered around a laptop trying to get democraticunderground.com back online after its latest crash.

A small crowd of beard-wearing latte-sipping NPR-listening academics will be pontificating to whomever they can corner.

The DU faction of the NRA will be having a gun battle with hotel security in the parking lot.

A klatch of paranoid DUers wearing tinfoil hats will be constructing a mock-up of WTC Building 7.

The Dennis Kucinich fan club will be wondering why everyone is ignoring them, while the Draft Gore crusade will be circulating petitions and conducting polls.

The GLBT, feminist, and atheist crowds will figure out who I am, and they'll be fighting over who gets to beat the shit out me first.

==============

Yeah, I can imagine it. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

30. It should be somewhere in the middle of the country with a major airport hub.
That way it would be less expensive and more likely that more DU'ers could actually make it.
