Boy, 13, Pushes For Marrow Donor Awareness
(CBS) DENVER A 12-year-old boy who has sparked a national movement now has the attention of the Denver Police Department.

Pat Pedraja is battling leukemia and wants to help other people fight the disease by bringing awareness to a national marrow donor program.

"People don't know that there's such a critical shortage of people on the registry and that people are dying each day because they can't find a marrow transplant match," Pedraja said in Denver on Monday. "I wanted to do something to help that and so this is what I did; it's called Driving for Donors."

Pat and his mother are traveling to 30 cities across America and signing up people -- such as members of the Denver Police Department.
